And Pampers Swaddlers, they have a yellow strip that turns green when wet.

    D: :...:

I'm such a dunce. I've been using those things for a month now and I kept thinking it was a green strip that turns yellow.

    Haha

It's definitely yellow to green! But sometimes there appears to be a small amount of urine and it hasn't changed colour...

Once a baby gets a taste for blood, watch out. They're elite predators.

She's precious Janson but you're going to have to trim those claws. And I do mean you, I can almost guarantee Mori's no good for it. The one time I tried to trim my daughter's nails when she was tiny I cut a chunk off of her thumb and immediately swore never again.

I found it easier to file my son's nails when he was an infant. Just used those cheap, disposable emery boards and took my time to dull his dragon claws.

I shall! Probably do the emery boards as Hunter suggests.

But the blood she drew was with her mouth :(

My wife had the same ''issue''.

There are several safe balm/salve/chapstick for nipples on the market. She found one she liked and swore by it while she was breast feeding and pumping.

Literally the one she liked the best looked like a giant chapstick or even a glue stick. I always laughed when I saw it.

It happens, won't hurt her if you're worried

If not... yeah, it happens :P

    As a hint for Mori:

Do not buy a can of Bag Balm or Udder Cream as a joke for that issue. Hormones are still a bit on the raging and/or swinging side even after delivery.

In other words, don't make the same mistake I did. I still have the scars, both physical and psychological.

I guessed it wouldn't, although she did look rather creepy with a trail of blood coming from the corner of her mouth. ;)

tsk tsk tsk. Janson, I'm surprised you would blame such an act on such a cute baby. She's too cute!!

The wife has been nibbling young Williams nails to keep them short. Not that he can't still scratch himself. It's surprising that the human race has survived given the desire of our infants to poke their own eyes at all opportunities.

The worst is when you go to get them one morning after they've managed to sleep more than 4 or 5 hours straight, and they have a huge scratch on their face. Especially on the day your mother or mother-in-law has planned for pictures to be taken at some overly expensive studio.

Oh well, sorry grandma but the baby is wounded today doesn't quite cut it.

Haha, yes, all of my sister's newborn photos have her with scratches down her cheeks.

Got to love my mother; she wanted to tell me something, but has no idea how to use Facebook; she logged on under her dog's account and proceeded to chat with me by commenting a bunch on a photo.

And then she switched on capslock and couldn't work out how turn it off.

Also I used to wonder how on earth mothers could spend so much of their precious parenting time on Facebook

and now it's like, well, there's not much else you can do when you're rooted to the spot and only have one hand free

Bite the nails yourself? That's a really good idea for trimming their nails. You know that you won't hurt skin.

Janson, you're raising an evil mastermind.

We had the opposite problem, my wife took off a big chunk of finger and I had to finish cutting the nails for her.

I'm so glad to see things are going well and from past posts it sounds like you and Mori were pretty healthy kids, so I'm fairly sure this one will be superhuman.

Glad you recovered quickly, as well.

I'm sure it's not a big deal, I just like to be paranoid on others' behalf.
