I'm such a dunce. I've been using those things for a month now and I kept thinking it was a green strip that turns yellow.
It's definitely yellow to green! But sometimes there appears to be a small amount of urine and it hasn't changed colour...

There are several safe balm/salve/chapstick for nipples on the market. She found one she liked and swore by it while she was breast feeding and pumping.
Literally the one she liked the best looked like a giant chapstick or even a glue stick. I always laughed when I saw it.
It happens, won't hurt her if you're worried

Do not buy a can of Bag Balm or Udder Cream as a joke for that issue. Hormones are still a bit on the raging and/or swinging side even after delivery.
In other words, don't make the same mistake I did. I still have the scars, both physical and psychological.

We had the opposite problem, my wife took off a big chunk of finger and I had to finish cutting the nails for her.
