Yeah, if you're against HHH/Lesnar (which I am, btw), don't argue against it because HHH is broken down, because he isn't. Argue against it because HHH as a wrestler is the worst during the buildup because he is always the strongest and the smartest and the funniest and god damn fuck that guy.

I felt the buildup for Hunter/Taker 2 (Actually 3) could have been better

And I felt the match would have been better if half of it wasn't Shawn flipping out because OHMYGOD SOMEBODY KICKED OUT OF A DEVASTATING ACTION AGAIN THE PURE EMOTION BYGAWDTHEY'REBROKENINHALF

I'm genuinely not trying to sound rude or snarky or anything here

But if a guy running on not one, but two quads, that have both been completely torn and are always going to be at risk of tearing again isn't considered broken down, I don't know what is.

I'm not saying he can't wrestle still or anything, the last two Manias have proven he's not. I'm just saying, he is in no shape to wrestle somebody like Lesnar. One of the many differences between Lesnar and Taker is Taker hasn't taken years off in the UFC and been in real fights. He can control himself, and not every blow he throws is stiff. Lesnar has always been the type of guy who could hurt you with one blow, and that showed the second week he was back, when he busted open Cena's nose/mouth with just one punch. I don't know if Hunter could face somebody like Lesnar, with his age and injuries, and walk away even close to 100%, if he even was able to physically walk away afterwards.

Kane's very character is nonsensical. So yeah it doens't surprise me that he's been involved in some truly stupid shit.

I don't know why the Paul Bearer thing from last Monday is bothering so many people though. Paul got submerged in fucking concrete for fucks sake, it's not like an hour or two in a freezer will do him much harm. I mean yeah it showed that Orton and Kane were dicks but that was hardly shocking news.

Man, Kane pulling Bearer out of the freezer just to put him back in there and take credit for him freezing to death is one of the funniest things I've seen in a while

I don't think people are bitching about Paul Bearer being in the freezer so much as they find it hilarious that they never showed him get rescued

Big Show has a feud that involved his father dying, his father's casket being pulled from the grave and dragged by a car, his mom kidnapped and forced to say he was a bastard, with comeuppance finally delivered in a cell lined with humping dobermans.

Say what you want about Kane but at least he merely shoved his dad in a fridge.

  • wirehead26wirehead26 Registered User regular
The humping dobermans match was like a full two months before the Big Show/Bossman debacle. That angle ended with Show destroying both Bossman AND Lord Tens... er, Albert at the December 1999 PPV.

    Why rescue him?

If you're the average wrestler backstage who's grown up watching WWE, you've seen him get buried alive underground, buried alive in a box of concrete, set on fire, tossed down stairs in a wheelchair, tossed off a ledge in a wheelchair, and beaten up beyond all repair.

If he's still alive after all that, why not think he can get stuffed in a ridiculously large fridge and come out just fine on his own?

I would argue that if Ultimate Warrior had more of a consistent career he would have topped Kane for dumbass storylines.

Kane was previously a guy called Isaac Yankum D.D.S.

He is pretty much used to bad storylines.

Dumb as the shit he gets involved in, I still love Kane all the same just because he does get involved in wacky nonsensical stuff sometimes. Him tossing Paul Bearer back in the freezer was just hysterical.

...I'm curious what this means. Mainly as I'm not familiar with Jimmy John's, or how it relates to Lesnar.

    But it sounds interesting.

Jimmy John's is a sandwich shop that sponsored Lesnar while he was in the UFC.

Since he came back to the WWE, he's made his ring gear essentially his UFC gear, and the backs of his shirts that he's worn since returning continue to bear the sponsor logo of Jimmy John's.

Ah, I see now. Good call.

And about that Cornette interview thing... um... is that allowable? To be posted like that, I mean?

See, I don't think Ultimate Warrior was really in weird feuds. I don't think they could even try to get any feud going with him that had any sort of complexity to it because no one could understand his promos. If his promos were that bat shit insane for just normal matches, imagine trying to have him convey an actual storyline through those things. Well, technically you get what happened when he showed up on WCW, and except for him being insane, it wasn't a weird feud.

Props to Beth Phoenix, that is one of the best sells I have seen in a long time, especially with following up on it like that.

Orton has been feuding with mid carders for about a year now. A marquee match for him at Summer Slam with Lesnar makes sense, in that he'll actually be on the card for a reason other than being Randy Orton.

It would also keep his string alive of picking up Cena's sloppy second feuds.

That PPV poster makes me giddy. Other than the fact that we all love Daniel & AJ, just the fact that they're putting two young talents on the poster and the whole thing is just fun and non-serious does my heart good.

    That poster is phenomenal.

I mean I know I'm gay for old-thymey stuff but seriously it's unique, fun, and actually fairly clever. But especially unique - so many posters are generic and blend together, so it's cool to see something creative.

And I didn't even notice the Yesses, that's awesome.
