...but again, they shouldn't even test. They don't provide insurance for the wrestlers. It's just a publicity move so that next time WWE, as CM Punk might put it, "becomes relevant" they can say "NOooo no no no. We have a wellness policy. Vote for Linda!"

The wellness policy debuted in early 2006, years before Linda ran for Senate. Although I have to admit I don't know when she decided to run.

They started it because congress got all in their shit for Benoit right?

Maybe I'm off but that's when I thought it began.

Nope, like I said it began in early 2006. Eddie's death might have been a catalyst, it wouldn't surprise me.

I'm pretty sure it coincided with our country's general backlash against steroids after Balco, Baseball Congressional Testimony, Marion Jones, etc.

I don't remember if Benoit and Eddie were direct drivers, but I know they are referenced a lot after-the-fact.

Hahaha. It's pretty great that we're talking about the wellness policy and like two minutes into Maffew's newest video Tito Santana informs HBK that he has a coke booger before their 'Mania match.

And again later with Shawn beating up photographers during his match with Diesel. How few fucks did 90s HBK give?

Maffew missed a good joke by not playing the clip of Hulk in Japan calling the WWF title a "toy" compared to the IWGP(?) title right after he said he's winning the title from Yokozuna to keep it in the WWF and AMERICA~!

    Very few.

Him getting severely injured, taking 4 years off, and finding God was in all seriousness the best thing that could have happened to him, and even he's admitted such.

    Antonio Cesaro's finisher:
    Spoiler:
Mick Foley will be on the road with WWE in a few weeks, working as a special guest referee for the main events. With Dean Ambrose also on the road with WWE recently, the next stage of the Foley vs. Ambrose feud could take place there.
Zack Ryder is getting a storyline related to his webshow Z! True Long Island Story. Ryder's complaint about WWE editing out "the best two minutes" of his series last week was the beginning to that angle, which is said to be picking up momentum over the coming weeks.

After Dixie Carter did her show [Hardcore Justice] and paid the guys a ridiculous sum of money, $250 to go out there and do what we do better than most people do, that to me was just so disrespectful. For somebody who has been born and raised in a billion dollar household with a silver spoon in her mouth and up her backside, to ask guys to go out there and do that, for that little bit of money and then when it did better than any pay-per-view event in the last five years, didn't even offer so much as an extra penny on top of it.

I said then and I stand by it, shame on you Dixie Carter that you'd expect anybody to do that in this day and age. At the same time she pays Ric Flair, 62, 63 years old, $35,000 a night. 60 year old Hulk Hogan, $75,000 a night and then somehow figures that these guys that come from ECW just don't have any value or worth at all. I plan on disproving that.

The wellness policy is a complete joke, but then that shouldn't be much of a surprise all things considered.

In other news I discovered that my Chris Hero hoodie is FUBAR, I was digging out my credit card to go and buy a new one when it occurred to me that won't be possible anymore. I knew there was a reason I hated it when wrestlers I like get picked up by the evil empire.
Oh well, probably won't be that long before he's running CH merch again sadly.

Buff Bagwell is slowly recovering from the car wreck he suffered days ago that left him with a broken neck, crushed nose, broken jaw, and broken cheekbone. He is now off the breathing tube. He will have surgery, and it's estimated his jaw will be wired shut for the next 6 months.

I participated in TNA's social media demands and tweeted that Alex Silva shouldn't get a contract. On one hand I'm stopping a guy from getting a contract with a big company, but on the other hand I am stopping him from wrestling for TNA so it's hard to tell which is better.

I went to TNA's website for their spring cleaning sale and their fucking shipping and handling is retarded. A Motorcity Machine Guns shirt is $8 and the shipping is more than that.

Impact started off well with Bully Ray vs. Devon, but other than that it's been pretty blah. Still got the tag team main event so hopefully that will fix it. Although Flair is throwing a going away party for Bischoff so that should be awful.

I just had the sudden realization that WWE has a weekly segment in which wrestlers gather around a television and pretend they've never seen Skip Sheffield even if some of them have been in a faction with Skip Sheffield like a year ago.

Hahahaha, I love that he does the far more impressive pop up European uppercut as a set up to his finisher, almost as if to highlight just how spectacularly rubbish that is a finisher.

For those who care, the recent set of FCW tapings featured Chris Hero taking on Claudio and Bo Rotundo in matches. So hopefully those will be pretty damn good when the shows release.

I'd like to think they've done some research on his gimmick but you never know. Still good to see that attention to detail is starting to become more prominent. And finally seeing his new finisher, yeah he needs something different. It's been 12 years WWE, please un-ban the piledriver.

But I am loving him being paired with Aksana. Who the hell could dislike her as long as she's not wrestling. Easily one of the hottest Divas.

It doesn't look as stupid as I thought it would reading the spoiler.

The pop up Euro right before it is so much better, though. For some reason I just kept thinking he looked like an evolutionary Brooklyn Brawler right up until the finisher.

edit: Why the fuck is Aksana the ring announcer? Do not want.

As a passing thought it struck me the other day that if they every actually do want to pull the trigger on a Cena heel turn then Cena snapping (like after his tag partner blind tagged himself in for the glory of the win) and pile-drivering a face and leaving the ring like it weren't no thing would make a big statement.

I don't want to see the piledriver return though it's just too close to the line and it doesn't mesh with the wwe style these days.

  • wirehead26wirehead26 Registered User regular
Maybe WWE can treat the piledriver like Memphis did or still does.

    People with decent hearing.

I've no clue what to think of Claudio's gimmick. I guess I just don't see what they could really do with it. There's some heel-ish things I can think of that could apply to a rugby gimmick but I seriously doubt the WWE has any clue about the sport. And if he's wearing lifting tape, where are his shorts?

    R-ricola?

At least he's still doing the popup European uppercut. Although that's only going to work with certain wrestlers. I doubt he's going to be able to do that with bigger guys or whatnot. Probably the same reason he's not doing the ricola bomb even though he was doing it in FCW but who knows.

  • wirehead26wirehead26 Registered User regular
Yeah if Claudio has a flaw it's his moveset works best on much smaller wrestlers than him.
