Anyone know if people have tried running SFxT tournaments with gems presets to help prevent lameouts?
By presets, i mean 3-5 gem settings, set up before the event starts. When players go to select characters, they can choose from the pre-sets, but do not get to customize or fuck with the gem setup in any other way. If they think the gems are set wrong, they can bug the pool organizer.
Build the presets from the stock gems, here's an example. Every setup must be set exactly the same, in the same order.
1. defense gems
2. attack gems
3. speed gems
4. meter building gems
5. mixed combo of gems.
And it'd probably be good to have the exact list of all gems and effects written out and taped to the side of each setup.
I think it might make picking gems in SFxT tourneys actually work, but it would take a chunk of time in the set up phase before the tourney starts.
I don't know, do some of you people who've gone to events and shit think this idea might actually work?

I finally got my Ps3 copy of SCV so I can play with my brother, but matchmaking found no one. I hope that's just Exam Week taking its toll, because Ps3 being the Fighting Game console was why I started Dual Modding in the first place.

Its weird. Ps3 is used at tourneys cause Sony sponsors alot of them, but XBL seems vastly more populated and in general, has better connections.
Sony doesn't really sponsor many tournaments at all. They supplied evo with a shitload of setups a couple years ago, so evo uses them because that's what they have
Other majors its pretty random as to what they use, some insist on ps3 because its what evo uses, others use 360s because its what they have
