From the stream last night. As day9 said, it doesn't matter if something sucks if you just build a shitload of them.
This is not quite true, since one of my students decided building missile turrets was all he would need. The other student marched his zealots in and was confused.
Yeah I use xsplit. Paid copies of xsplit let you capture game video directly which (from what I understand) makes running xsplit+dxtory largely unnecessary.
@TwitchTV, @Youtube: master-level zerg ladder/customs, commentary, and random miscellany.
MC and Stephano are playing a Bo9 tomorrow. Unfortunately it will be cross server, so hopefully the lag doesn't diminish the quality of play too much. I'm guessing MC will win 5-2 as long as the lag doesn't mess up his forcefield micro.
So awesome thing: As I'm reading the thread, Doctor walks in and starts talking to me about needing to stream video and other feeds for a conference he's running next week between people in three different hospitals. Guess who just used SC2 streams to demo a product for a 70 year old surgeon?
We are concerned that protoss players seem to be having a slower start compared to zerg or terran players. For quite some time after StarCraft II was released, especially at the highest levels of professional play, protoss players were primarily only focusing on 1 base or 2 base warp gate all-ins. It was only after we toned down these builds that protoss players really started exploring their various tech options in the same way that the other two races have been doing for a long time.

Those forcefields were godtier though. Making that wall instantly, then trapping pretty much all the roaches when TLO tried to back off.

oh yeah mana was awesome but TLO shouldn't have been in that position. he was scared either of the damage he took from the warp prism or the toss getting a 3rd.

Yup, agreed. His engagement was definitely him just desperately throwing in his roaches and hoping. There wasn't even really a point to it, like Bitterdam said. Even after losing that hatch, he wasn't in a losing position.
Mana playing this game well too. TLO's ZvP not looking too good in this series.
might as well start getting hyped up right? I have watched some of this stuff before and read a lot about BW but I never saw that. I know lots of people here are like me and got into starcraft with 2... everything I know about BW is what I read or watched well after it happened.

Good thread about this very thing! Look at the first post, it's probably the best one. There are countless times where Flash has shown His godly miracles, but those has some of the most famous. You already linked the game against Mind, showing his decision-making, but this is Flash in another light: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UXH8eCcvQMI
Keep in mind, there is none of the ez-mode that came with SC2. Every time he wants to use the rax, he needs to click through the rax one by one to make the units, or even change rally points. Watch (not Flash) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e18ancDxBUE to see how people had to just make units. And once they're made, they can't all be control grouped together, because you can only select 12 at a time. This is Flash's unit production.
Flash vs Fantasy should be a must-watch.

that's where I saw it
the bottom video I've seen before as well but it's just mind boggling
overall I wouldn't complain about the changes but I certainly get how impressive BW play was in a totally different way.
dhal, will you ever stream on the weekends? Like, should I wake up extra early tomorrow even though it's Saturday?
yes, today I should be streaming in the afternoon and/or evening. I don't know times yet because I don't know my plans for today yet.
around 3pm onwards I imagine i'll potentially be online. By 7-8pm I'll defintely be doing some.
goddamn. work called me in tomorrow, so I may choose to sleep in. ffffff why can't people figure out where they need to be in an appropriate amount of time so they don't fuck my weekend over? apparently I have to cover because I'm the only one that can.

the vods on my twitchtv channel (which it auto generates) are choppy as fuck. but people watched my stream yesterday and said it was fine so I dunno what the hell is happening. does twitch just suck at that part?
I think I'm going to start playing Mech in TvT. It should force me to actually learn how to control Tanks instead of throwing waves of Marauders into Tank lines.
it tells me something I already knew - I need to learn location hotkeys
So I'm following his suggestion and practising vs the easy AI with edge-scrolling totally disabled. Its like a totally different game. Sometimes I flub a bit and try to edge scroll, but overall i'm forced to be crisp. Its obviously slightly inefficient to have edge scrolling totally disabled, for example when attacking with your army you want to be edge scrolling while you advance, but I can re-enable it once I've weaned myself off the habit of using it when I should be using camera hotkeys.
Wow, I always suspected that they could help you become a bit more efficient, but that article makes them sound like they fundamentally change the way you play.

I use them for each base and where my units are rallied to, I'll read it in case he has other advice but it certainly has helped a lot.
also I hate lategame tvp
edit - yeah he pretty much notes the reasons I started using them. maynarding always seemed tedious until I started that, going back to add production is MUCH easier with them, responding to drops.honestly, set them during your down time in the beginning of the game and I think you'll just adjust to it. turning off edge scroll seems like you're just gonna get frustrated in other areas.

Late to the party man
A student just showed this to me in gaming club right now, but I see that the forum has already found out.
It made me pretty happy.

Hey kambing, what are you using to capture your video, and is it free?

i think that he's using xsplit, which is free-ish, but will watermark your capture if you don't pay for it.
