    Red Alert 3 never quite gelled for me. It was good, but it was no Red Alert 2.

    It had bears but they weren't psychic. It lost the giant squid though and that was sad. Still had the death blimp. Because nothing says you are doomed then a giant armored blimp dropping bombs.

    Red Alert 3 also had psychic school girls and transforming robots in the Japanese army. Also George Takei. The only Japanese actor on the whole Japanese side.

    My brother had a paper submitted in the best journal in his area. It's come back with corrections to do several times over the past few months, and it's been a struggle figuring out what the reviewers wanted and getting it done right.

    He just got the notice this morning that the latest draft was accepted! :D

    yeah, it's kind of a shame

    it has a lot of really well-executed style that's just sort of marred by the anime-type stuff

    I am at Nero right now. I am the oldest person here. My fiancée is the second oldest.

    what the hell is Nero? is it in Houston?

    @dynagrip

    It is a dubstep group

    I was exaggerating a bit but there were a significant number of children (14-15 or so?) there

    It was at Verizon which is apparently all ages I guess! But they were serving alcohol. It was strange.

    @desc

    I had not been to an electronic music thing in a number of years

    i am glad that furry boots are still a thing

    Haha. They are still a thing?

    Furry boots and EL wire are both catnip to people on drugs.

    Cow like nose rings are not a good thing either. Like some nose piercings are fine. But not ones that make you look bovine. The lip piercings I am fine with.

    I don't think they look good on her either. Just overly busy. Also her eyebrows are too big. And her eyelashes look weird. Toe thumb.

    Would not bang.

    Also, that piercing does bring me one step closer to having one of my predictions about the future becoming true:

    That one day people will get gauge piercings in their cheeks.

    A friend of mine lined the suit jacket he wore to prom in pink EL wire, it was actually really badass and extremely well done. Not like, the liner inside the suit, I guess the stitching would be the right term.

    My all time best experience with people in costumes was meeting two guys in awesome Tron costumes at burning man. they were strutting around glowing late at night and I yelled YES really loud when I saw them.

    Is turning clothing into something besides a vector for transmitting anorexia or class aspirations really so bad? I mean, I'm not an anime guy, but people put a lot of work into peacocking around in those costumes. Naruto or bleach would not be my first choices personally for inspiration, but if you haven't gone to a party were, say, everyone is dressed in evening wear with robot and gorilla costume parts for a robot-monkey-flapper party ... Well, I endorse the experience.
