Someone mentioned a bit back, I think it might have been Colt Cabana on the AoW interview, that Dolph Ziggler might be the greatest wrestler to never set foot in a wrestling ring until he signed a WWE contract and went to developmental. So they must be able to do something right.

Yeah no. Hell no. The WWE developmental system has created a bunch of good wrestlers or at least good characters, especially nowadays.
So I guess they felt the only way Laurinaitis could get more boos than he already was getting was by having him break the top star even more than he already was broken
