Well, yeah, 'girl power' is a silly label and rooted in wafer thin Spice Girls empowerment nonsense, but there's a danger in dismissing anything with a decently developed female character as 'girl power'. I trust Pixar to make Brave a good movie, and not to foist some retarded cliches on us and call it a message.
The Infinity Gauntlet is part of a set of Marvel plotlines loosely categorized as "Cosmic Marvel" - it includes stuff like Silver Surfer, some of the Fantastic Four's shenanigans, a lot of time travel and aliens and godlike powers from beyond the universe.
It all sounds really stupid at first but somehow a lot of it actually turns out okay in the execution.
