So, after years of my Pennsylvania social circle trying to get me to go, I am finally hitting Otakon this year. I've been to plenty of conventions, but an anime con with 20,000+ people is a certainly little different compared to the tiny gaming conventions I usually hit.
While searching for a duplicate topic, I noticed some of you have gone before, so I'm looking for recommendations on panels to hit, etc...since the musical guests aren't really up my alley this year, I get the feeling I will need to fill some space. The official forum was pretty much no help, a bunch of ZOMG YOU WILL HAVE SUCH A GREAT TIME ^_^ but no helpful advice on what's worth seeing.
tl;dr: Lol animu, what's worth checking out at Otakon?

I used to really like anime a whole lot
so I used to at the very least be aquainted with these types.
These were the motherfuckers who actually made playing Shadowrun fucking stupid and boring as hell because they would make up these bullshit "hallucination" stories where the rules of the game went out the fuckign window and instead of doing the God damn mission all they did was make pot and anime jokes within the context of their characters.
I've never been more disappointed in nerds in all my life.
Point is, I have met people that fit this list.
Only they didn't have the excuse of being 13 years old.
I don't really want them to be ruined for life.
But I just can't think of any better way to fix the wrong that is being a teenager.
When I GM'd shadowrun I would occasinally run into these people. They quickly met with the buttstock of a Corporate rifle in game and then got told to leave. Fuck you. Go watch Dragonball Z.

GM had a little digital random-number generator, looked serious-business at first glance.
We didn't get within 5 feet of the door to this apartment complex before one of the rocket surgeons was talking about some dream-world bullshit.
And they had the brass to get pissed at me for actually wanting to play Shadowrun. "Quit fucking up the story man."
