they've buffed the arc pistol like four times since the game came out and it is still shit!

like they might look good on paper or you might think you've got a really clever strategy with them
but ultimately they're just markedly inferior to other guns that do the same things, only better

the arc pistol was actually pretty good even before this little buff
the uncharged arc pistol hits weaker than a phalanx but it also has an incredible rate of fire
and an uncharged arc pistol hits slower and harder than a carnifex
and if it's at X you've got just as much of a 200% recharge rate as you would with the carnifex!
it's basically "do you want to do the single precise shot better, or have the versatility to spew bullets if you want to"
but the arc pistol is not bad

why in god's name would you use this piece of shit
it's not the best, obviously, but it's a solid little gun, and if you've got it at X then you're rolling with 190% recharge speed
and more importantly it is a sniper rifle and fits neatly with the operative gear

because now that the sentry turret's base damage is good, that 40% bonus to it at rank 3 means a lot more
and that is further boosted by the rank 5 perk, which makes it shred armor
on the other hand, the shock attack is a thousand damage every two seconds in a 5-meter radius
