I haven't done ranked in a long time. Not since the goofy days of POOFO with @Fellhand and co.
I suppose I could do solo and duo queue, and just tear faces off now that I'm better, but I'd rather do a full 5-man premade if I'm going to get serious about raising my elo, and I never have 5 people consistently on to do so.
Thus, I have no ELO hell. I just have ELOtta fun!

As much as I want AP Ez to work, it's garbage in almost every matchup as long as the other guy can push minions. He shoves you to the tower, you lose half the CS, and there's nothing you can do since you have no way to aoe farm. It's the same way you beat a Leblanc, except she has scarier burst at low levels. His burst output when he's farmed is crazy, but he'll never get there against a good opponent.
