Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it,
follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given
their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!

...but the final, all-important fact, that will get you buying this game and playing it to the end.
The game as a Narrartor, and who is it? None other than Tony Jay.
Sales are sales. Everything being on sale all week has been pretty bad ass, not everything is in a flash sale or voting sale. Gotta look around. Lot of good games went half off or more. I would say that there is never a 'lull' with Steam. Something is always uber cheap.
I start to feel that way, then I buy stuff I don't want to give away. It helps.
All of the class.
All of it.
I've heard tell that they're not inviting people during the sale, to prevent casuals from bringing down the property values. Of course, I've been in the group for years, and I have seven cars on my lawn, so who knows?
So far, all I've bought is Skyrim. My wallet considers this a success. The only willpower-testing deal so far was SR3, and it's gone, so I should be safe. Should.

Also, the narrator and the bard frequently insult each other, which is always nice.
Personally, I didn't really enjoy the Bard's Tale remake, having just finished it (after a long 6-year hiatus) on PS2 a few months ago. It was passable, but something just felt missing in the combat for me. Still, you can't go wrong at $2.49.
Now I can't wait to actually play some stuff! Football Manager 2012 and Dear Esther both have me really interested as they seem like things I've never really tried before.
Lindsey, I loathed Oblivions game play it was awkward and no intuitive (at least for a newbie like myself) but Skyrim was amazing.
Not even Bad Rats would play Bad Rats.
Thank you so much!!

Hence why anybody playing Borderlands should be in wangchat and using that group since not everybody is part of the main group.
Although being here for 5 years and on Steam for 7 has gotta count for something, especially when all i'm looking for is ability to get into the chat.
I had exactly the same experience. Bought Oblivion day 1 and played about 2-3 hours of it. Bought Skyrim day 1 and played about 80 hours over the following 3 weeks. Not to say that Oblivion is terrible or anything, but it wasn't what I was looking for at the time, and after playing Skyrim I doubt I could go back to it.

They tried implementing voice commands and "conversations" with squad members. My opinion is that they failed terribly. It was a good idea, but I couldn't get it to work even in a quiet room. The squad members's trust is based on what you say to them, but they game would get my response wrong more than half the time. Unfortunately, the dialogue is bad, too.
The shooting bits are average. It's a cover-based affair against robotic enemies. The high point being location based damage, in that you can take out legs or arms and when you score a head shot kill, the robot turns on its allies.
The game does look good, though, and it is fun to play. Worth the 10 bucks I got it for from Amazon.
Spec-Ops: The Line is a much better squad-based, third-person shooter, so get that instead. Although, the only way to win that game is not to play, so there is that...
I was looking forward to Binary Domain, even though I didn't know that's what it was until I actually bought it. I remembered hearing about the squad-based voice commend implementation and trust mechanics a while ago, but I didn't remember what game it was. They are neat ideas, but poorly implemented here.

Like CCGs? Check my CCG's Thread in CF and help me playtest it!
But...but...it would only be $5 which fits into my budget...and it's beloved by all.
As a side note, tomorrow is museum day (thanks to the heat down here) and we're hitting the History of Video Games at the Smithsonian - I've heard it's kind of limited in its scope but I'm still pretty excited to share it with the kid.
Especially next to Skyrim.
Most games are, next to Skyrim.

@OneAngryPossum is also classy and took pity on my pathetic drawings to gift me Jade Empire. I'm going to finish a drawing of quality and post it in his honor.
They might be!
