uniques being worthless is the worst part of Diablo 3

because unique items are where the flava comes in the itemization

I love how at the start they were rabidly trying to defend that design decision. No no, rares and blues should be better than uniques. They're just cool to have.

    1.0.4 - we're redesigning uniques/legendaries/sets based on player feedback

  • LTMLTM Registered User regular
There's enough useless items that are cool to have, like the Shattered Oar or Rakinishu's Blade. I also found one called The Clipper the other day on my DH.

Uniques/Legendaries/Sets should be ungodly overpowered because that's the entire point.

  • KwoaruKwoaru Registered User regular
Yeah I feel like I should really be striving to complete the witch doctor set and then upgrading from that set to best in slot unique/legendary items

nobody pee poos out of control for blue items that give a flat stat increase, they pee poo out of control for set items with ridiculous bonuses and weapons that freeze monsters solid or shoot poison novas or raise dead monsters or armor sets that make you glowy or look like a monster

that shit is what you remember about D2 itemization, not "oh I got this rare with really good stats that helps me run through monsters like I have a lawnmower strapped to my chest"

or I could just buy this rare that doesn't have some sort of terrible gimped stat range

I thought one of the sets in D2 turned you into Tyrael. I was disappointed when that wasn't the case.

  • jwalkjwalk frosty Registered User regular
more like, oh I found this decent item I can sell and then use the gold to buy something that's a little teeny tiny bit better than what I already have..

seriously anything I would want for my barb now is 20-40M each slot...
and all that will do is let me farm act 2 a little better, maaaaybe farm act 3 without tearing my hair out.

big fucking deal, it's faster and easier to whirlwind thru act 1 and I have all the gear I really need for that..

  • LTMLTM Registered User regular
Yeah, Act1 in MF gear is bascially the endgame.

If it wasn't for my desire to "beat the game" and down Inferno Diablo...

  • JarsJars Registered User regular
act 2 is a lot more fun to farm though

    yuuup

  • LTMLTM Registered User regular
What is the optimal Act2 farm run? I haven't really even tried, since I can't beat Belial yet.

  • jwalkjwalk frosty Registered User regular
well that depends, I had been farming act 2 for like the last month, so was bored of it and doing act 1 was refreshing. especially doing it with a whole new build, it was like a new character. plus I found some more of the unique dungeons and etc..

  • JarsJars Registered User regular
I do vault ZK belial sewers oasis

  • BeastehBeasteh RIP BIG CHRIZZLERegistered User regular
i do road to alcarnus, sewers, outpost then vault

Act 3 farming in massive MF gear is the end-endgame. Act 2 is also acceptable.

  • jwalkjwalk frosty Registered User regular
I do the mines(?) something, just an outdoor desert zone with lots of chests and elites and stuff, then road to alcarnus, then the oasis if I feel like it, then finish up with the bosses..

but it takes longer than whirlying thru act 1 and the loot is basically the same.. it has what 4% better chance of dropping lvl 63? but no guarantee they will be better quality items so...

  • JarsJars Registered User regular
twice as many 63s in act 2, 4x as many in act 3.

    This

get 5 stacks go to vault of assassin and proceed to kill something like 8-15 elites.

when you finish VotA and tp out to town just restart and tp out again and only use warp points to go to the above mentioned areas to get 5 stacks and do over. It is quick and easily the most loot

and dont do any of the bosses cause you lose your vota check point which means you have to search for vota which is the longest part of the run until you get the check point

My issue with that on my DH is that I need about 600-700 to deal with my ball lightning ticks. But those are easy enough to smoke screen through. The issue, though, is that if I want to kill things at a decent clip, I use spike trap. And if even one crits, it's a one hit kill for me.

BRT - how much LOH does your tank DH have? And are you built mainly for resistances?

I have bow with something like 844 LOH and other good stats, but it's mid 700s for DPS

I had to switch to a lower LOH bow with higher DPS for now

2k loh, high 600s-700s all res, 50k+ hp, 3.5k armor (could be a lot better)

when i had my barb friend's warcry on i was invincible, but the dps of that group was ass

I have like 600 LoH on rings + amulet, so even if I switch to a weapon with no/low LoH I still have some...

So basically, you're a monk? I mean, are you looking for dex/vit/all resist? And then LoH for jewelry? What's your DPS?

If that strength was dex it would be worth a whole hell of a lot to a monk stacking fire resist

As it is still probably a lot

also do you wanna play this game later

  • JarsJars Registered User regular
it doesn't have crit or % from elites but the vit is something it does have over stormshield

    yeah dogg

and I'll just let my templar hold onto it until I decide to sell it or use it in a later act when I need more resist

and also it's a near-max block sacred shield with allres so it's worth a few million right there
