Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it,
follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given
their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!

Not through Steam. You can set a QOS in your router or Windows machine that would probably work.

Not worth it I think. Maybe it'll drop in price all on it's own.
I won't be getting it right away in any case (oh Steam Sale) but I wanted to get a feel for how high it should be on my wishlist.
edit: I haven't played anything in the MDK series before, including the original MDK2.

I've played it. It's pretty good. Short. Honestly not as weird as I was expecting (it's still plenty weird, but it explains too much most of the goings on rather than leaving them up to interpretation like other games that go for the same vibe do).

Edit: Looking around at past articles it does indeed appear to be a zombie game. A lot of the early stuff makes it sound a bit like a more adventure oriented Project Zomboid, though how much the current ideas behind the game match up are hard to guess.
Nightly reminder, if you missed the sale get in while you can. Can't have too many russian ladies now, can we?

I think I could easily do the same. Especially since it came with all the DLC. And the worst part is, I bought Skyrim in the sale too. Fuck me, right?

(IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: This might not actually be the GOTY edition, since it was purchased before Steam added the GOTY version and erased the vanilla version).

yeah the tutorial sucks butts. What you do is draw on the tree, just a line and then draw the glyph
Grand thanks to @38thDoe for Rig 'n Roll and to @Lawndart for Plants vs Zombies (which I've never played before tonight, strangely enough).
I suppose I should remind people to enter this:
And these:
I have more that will be going out in the coming weeks, but I'm limited to three simultaneous giveaways.
Also there will be stealth contests where I just up and send people things. Be on your guard!
Can't speak about the HD remake, but I played a LOT of the original MDK2 on the Dreamcast back in the day, and it's one of my favorite games of all time. Brutally hard, but fair. You play as 3 separate characters, each one has its own type of levels. The main guy are more snipey, the dog is all action, and the professor is more puzzle-y.
If you have a soft spot for action-packed, older games that are difficult but awesome, I'd say go for it.
You might know me as D'Brickashaw on Steam.
I pronounce it bee-log.
Same guy won one of Lawndart's too. I think he was going to ask for a reroll, I'd probably do the same.
So classy.

Good stuff, thanks for the rec! I don't mind difficulty as long as it's an interesting and fair kind of difficulty. I'll keep it high on my wishlist, might be that it'll have a good sale when winter comes.
I bought Dead Island GOTY on GMG before the goty version was put onto Steam but in my library it says Dead Island not Dead Island GOTY.
I do have the 2 DLC's with it though, and when I put in the key it said "Dead Island GOTY Retail activated"

If I am Gaming, I am streaming!
I think it's just SOP to mention it here.
I pronounce it bee-log.
Yeah, I mean, grain of salt and all that since it's been at least 10 years since I played it, but I completely loved it when I did (and I was playing more games back then, before real life responsibilities got in the way). I wouldn't pay $15 for it, but I definitely put it on my wishlist and will snag it if/when it drops to the $5 range.
You might know me as D'Brickashaw on Steam.
Do you mean comment on SteamGifts? Or acknowledging here? I acknowledge here, but I nearly never comment on SteamGifts. Now I'm afraid I've been rude.

I was commenting but I've stopped now because there's only so many iterations of "Thanks for the giveaway" before it just looks like a copy and paste job anyway. I'll certainly thank the person here if I am the winner though.

Q.U.B.E. - a solid First Person Puzzler. It often feels quite lonely, since it's visual and mechanical style will invoke a few Portal comparisons, but there's no real story and no interaction with a character ala GLaDOS. The puzzles are excellent and at times rather challenging. Controls very smoothly. The ending... well, had me going "Wait... WHAT?" If you really like puzzle games, I feel it's a definite pickup.
Quantum Conundrum - Clearly I was on a puzzle binge. The art is FANTASTIC and I personally loved John DeLancie's dialogue. It made me laugh a few times and grin often. The puzzles are great in concept and make great use of the dimensional mechanic. Figuring out what you need to do is alot of fun. HOWEVER, actually doing it is at times not so fun. The game relies too much on platforming at times (read: a lot towards the end), and that is a tall order for First Person Perspective at the best of times and the controls here are certainly not tight enough.
Actually, thinking about it now, it might be better served by using a pad rather than KBAM. The KBAM controls are... awkward when you have to change dimensions quickly when jumping around. Q, E, 1 and 3 are the dimension buttons... now imagine pressing those while still managing WASD. When I hit up the new DLC mission I'll try my 360 controller.
Still, despite the flaws I really enjoyed it.
Blackwell Legacy - I'm playing this series with the GF, and we just finished this (the first) one. Great point and click adventure game. The writing is excellent and the story is surprisingly dark at times. It does suffer from some ol' Sierra moonlogic at times
Deus Ex (the original) - not quite done yet, but suspect I have only one more sitting to go. What can I say that you don't already know? It's awesome. I regret taking this long to get to play it.

While true, the dude has won like 5 games from PAers now (3 minus Gaslight and Lawndart), most with clauses like "Only for active Penny Arcadians." I'd think at the very least he'd show up and say thanks or something. I mean, he's better than the random spy we get every once and a while that doesn't know what a Pony Arcade is, but still kinda lame.
To me there's a big difference between folks who post in other threads/sub-forums (hence I made my giveaways for the main PA group not the G&T Adventure Team group) and people who don't post on the forums at all.
Personally, I don't mind at all. However, I have been called too easy-going for my own good so take that for whatever it's worth.
Yeah, and this is perfectly reasonable. The only reason I use G&T is because it's less likely to have random spies, not because I really need to know the guy or anything, don't care if they're SE, G&T, as long as they're around in some capacity. Just more of a chance they're at least active in some capacitiy.
