I'm watching the funniest / saddest draft video right now

Dude drafted a deck full of card draw and creature removal, but forgot a way to kill his opponents. He has seven total power worth of creatures in his entire deck! He is trying to beat down with 1-power creatures, and then is sad-face when their triggered abilities force him to draw, because half the time he just decks himself.

i don't know what any of this means but it is all so interesting!
    Spoiler:

Well I know the context but everything else is lost on me. Magic always sounds so cool the art is fantastic and the abilities are super unique.

    But

    $$$$$

@DasUberEdward if you have a bunch of friends who also want to play you can have a lot of fun buying a bunch of booster packs and then drafting your decks from them. All the decks are similarly terrible and it keeps the cost way down.

That seems like proper SQL syntax there deebs. But yeah, pretty quirky compared to what you were using before I bet.

In SYBASE, aliasing the table in the UPDATE will cause all sorts of errors. The same holds for Oracle.
Also, saying, "UPDATE this table" and including the table that you are updating in the FROM has never broken the query before.

You must be one of them

If you didn't alias it, you'd probably be fine. Weird things happen on UPDATE with an alias I guess.

I'm guessing the problem is there's no reason to select the table you're already updating (cyclic redundancy being a reason, how can you select a table you're updating? If you change the value, then my select is bad! Or something, SQL is dumb like that sometimes).

Aliasing tables occurs in the FROM, aliasing columns comes in the SELECT. To think otherwise is heresy.

In a handful of ways, it's kind of cool - I'm back to the basics, roughing it with sub-standard tools.
In nearly every other way, it's ridiculously painful. No layers, no magic wand, no transparency.

It does transparency, it just does transparent backgrounds really poorly. If you change from opaque select to transparent select it assumes white = transparent for copying or moving things around.

    Yyeeesssssss.
It's weird that I love that song now. It was playing on the radio when I was driving home when my first long term girlfriend dumped me.

It played more than three times. After the second, I wanted something else to get me through this semi charmed kind of life.

Depending on your university, they're either lovable adults who drive you to the ER when you get alcohol poisoning or total assholes who call the dean to report you when you get alcohol poisoning.

you guys should watch that japan-azerbaijan match if you haven't yet. it's the most ridiculous bullshit. in the third round the japanese fighter scores like five knockdowns and every single time the ref just tells the guy to get up and doesn't give a count. no opportunity for a knockout, and no ref stoppage (though it ought to have been). then the judges gave it to the azebaijani.

it was so blatant and ridiculous and awful that i couldn't believe what i was seeing.

I can never understand how people think they can get away with something so obvious.

    http://www.badlefthook.com/2012/8/1/3214057/olympics-2012-boxing-controversy-japan-shimizu-result-overturned-iran-mazaheri-fight-fixed

Japanese bantamweight Satoshi Shimizu has successfully protested the result of his almost comical second round loss to Azerbaijan's Magomed Abdulhamidov from this afternoon, and Shimizu will be advancing to the quarterfinals.

Abdulhamidov won the fight originally on a score of 22-17, but the fight was outrageously refereed in the third round as Shimizu repeatedly dropped Abdulhamidov only to receive no credit for any knockdowns, and only get points from one public warning issued to Abdulhamidov. It was appalling officiating, and the AIBA have done the absolute right thing here. The organization's ruling is that Shimizu should have earned a stoppage win by their rules.

AIBA also will decide on what to do about the referee from the fight tomorrow morning

    Yay! Justice!
