    This isn't Reddit?

At least 1/2 of us know our ass from a hole in the ground and there's no barely legal titty pictures every 5th thread, so no, this isn't Reddit.

So uhm, you're either talking out of your ass or a hole in the ground or you frequent some pervy parts of Reddit.

PA had to ban ranger and anime threads, let us not forget that just because the administration here is active and absolute in their rulings that the people here wouldn't jump on that shit in two seconds flat.

that thing sailing over your enormous shit-filled head is the point and the joke at the same time

Pip are you saying that reddit finally, after adamantly refusing to take action citing freedom of speech, taking down their subforum people were literally using to post and swap child pornography isn't exactly the same as the PA admins banning ranger and anime threads?

That sucks, but luckily nobody died. Sounds like her motivations were less... I dunno... deeply troubling?

Fleeing a fight at a party only to drive back and shoot into a crowd is pretty damn troubling. I hope they find that stupid bitch and throw in jail for life.

Of course that's the difference between premeditated murder and voluntary manslaughter (from a legal perspective.) If you have enough time to go back home and then return with your gun, you've got enough time to realize how monumentally stupid your idea is.

As I understand it you can convict murder on only a few seconds of premeditation.

That probably varies by state. Also, that article isn't super clear on the time elapsed or distance she drove. I'd guess it was less fleeing/going home, and more going to get her gun at her car which was parked a bit away from the disembarkation area of the dock and driving over.

I am having a really hard time seeing how those details could not amount to premeditation in any state even in the situation with her car in the parking lot as you described. She still left the situation, returned, and decided to fire her weapon into a crowd. This woman needs to be sterilized and thrown in prison.

I mean, I simply don't know enough about homicide statutes and legal wrangling to weigh in on that meaningfully. A "few seconds" doesn't sound like anything I've heard widely regarded as a standard, but I just don't know. I was mostly just commenting on the lack of clarity in the article and the potential to overstate her distance mentally or physically from the situation. I'm not trying to diminish her legal culpability-I wouldn't feel qualified-though I will, on principle, assert that sterilize her and toss her in a hole might not be the best way to correct for that sort of shit.

@Jasconius Entertain me for a moment while I educate you a bit here.

The Mars Rover "Curiosity" is one of the most advanced remote oberservation and study tools we have ever developed, let alone sent to another planet.
She weighs in at almost 2,000lbs, is the size of a small vehicle, and can traverse objects as tall as 30 inches.

She traveled nearly 360 million miles at speeds that would crush a human being like a bug, only to accelerate to 13,000mph once she hit the gravitational pull of mars. Using a super sonic parachute to slow down to 600mph in order to then reduce speed with 8 rockets and hover in place while deploying the Rover itself down to mars on a cable system. This was the most insane method of delivering this robot to Mars and it did all this in 6 minutes and 49 seconds, all by itself. It was in one way communications Nasa for 18 minutes, that was 18 minutes NASA could only watch.

Imaging trying to throw a 2.5bn dollar airplane from France to the white house and land on Barack Obama's chair in the oval office from an open window.

You say the photo looks like shit? You must not be familiar with the first 19 hours of the EDL program, the Rover has to self-check, figure out where it is, etc. Tons of shit goes into this. We are LUCKY to even have those photos right now, because the main antenna for the rover isn't even up yet, and we only happened to get those photos because of the amazing calculatory work done by NASA with the Odyssey system that is orbiting mars.

You will get your full color photos and high res details soon enough, but if you can't appreciate the stride humanity took last night, then nothing said here will change your mind I don't think.

Oh and as a side note, most of the technology you're using to post on these forums has in some way or another come from the expansive exploration of space, the technology used to get there, and the amazing minds behind NASA. It's kind of a win/win.

Well, it had to get far away from the rover to make sure it didn't interfere with it- that was the whole point of the crane. It's probably not completely destroyed, but I'm sure it's not in great condition after its crash landing.

One day we'll pick up the pieces and put em in a museum I'm sure.
