Absolutes and generalizations are, in my humble opinion, awful things. You cannot dismiss a whole demographic because you assume that they are all bigoted, homophobic, objectivist, etc, etc, and assume that once they all die off, the world will be a better place.
What you see are not "the current old people". You are talking about the "current old loud people in America". I hope that you realize, that some of today's old people were war protesters, labour organizers, draft dodgers, civil rights activists, queer pioneers, and proto-environmentalists.

Yeah, if we suddenly came into obscene amounts of money we would definitely be taking a trip to Spain and getting intimately familiar with lots of amazing ham. And then we'd probably take a few years to sail around the world but maybe along the way just decide we really like some place that really suits us and disappear.

I went in and ordered a ham one day from my ham and sausage butcher (different from my regular butcher) around Christmas time and he asked me when I wanted it. I told him the 14th, he said, that's a bit early for Christmas.
