    Help me, [chat]! I have a friend's baby shower to go to tomorrow, but I am a shitty friend and haven't bought a gift yet! I do however have a sealed DVD of My Neighbor Totoro, one of the greatest kids' movies of all time, and the mother is in to anime. Is this a suitable gift for a baby shower or is it terrible?

    Soul Caliber, Bayonetta, Lollipop Chainsaw, the new Tomb Raider, any Dead or Alive game...
    From what I have heard, Lollipop Chainsaw doesn't really belong with the rest of those.
    The HAWP people liked it and they are usually very, very stringent about sexism in their games.

    Lollipop Chainsaw is a Suda51 game, so all of the sexism involved is of the excessive parody variety.

    EDIT: Though, the same claim could be made for Bayonetta, but I think Lollipop Chainsaw is much more explicit about the fact that they are making fun of it.

    You know your friend better than we do but if she's into anime, isn't there a good chance she's already seen Totoro? I'd go to Babies R Us in the morning and see if they have any rattles or soft caps and pad your DVD gift just to be safe. And bake a batch of cookies. Chicks love cookies.
