Demo and retail have separate server sets. (I had both open for a time).
I never saw it in the list, but I was able to join RayofAsh's game one time. (it also asks for a port when you try to specify a specific IP address.) Then the whole thing crashed on me.
Unfortunately, I now need to call it a night. Stupid east coast.
I would totally be down for trying again another night. We may want to try getting it up with the demo to get a larger player base.

More pertinant question: Can I rely on some of you guys to be playing tomorrow night? I freaking LOVE this game and I'm the only one of my friends who does - I never get a goddamn chance to play it normally.
Funny, I installed this last week and just finished the Marine campaign again the other day. Working through the Predator campaign now, which I don't think I ever finished -- or the Alien one for that matter. I'm up for some multiplayer whenever.

Man, I always got stuck on that one alien mission where you burst from that dudes chest and you gotta sneak through the level without being seen or you get fucked up. How do you manage to sneak by all those people? That's what I call bullshit!
I used to play this online back in the days of the 56k modem. Taking down a queen alien in mp with a light pred's wristblades was GLORIOUS. Shall find my discs and show you all how it's done.

I only ever tried it once and it was a terrible experience. I was an Alien. The ONLY Alien. Everyone else played Marines and I litterally couldn't take a step without getting blown away.
They were really nice guys tho.
When the game first game out I believe it was CPL? that had a tournament for it. I entered the regional qualifiers and lost, got 2nd place as Alien. In the final game I was the only alien, other 2 players were Marines and 1 Pred. Guess who took 1st?
I'll look for my CDs. Are we patching at all or 1.0?
The alien campaign is truly awesome. Nothing cooler than well, I don't want to ruin it for people who haven't played, but the "first-person" aspects of certain parts is awesome.
I was playing the demo awhile ago, and I was ripping apart marines and preds with the drone. I remember how fun this game is, all I need are my damn discs. I even have the expansion.
If I were to install would we use ventrilo? If we do how much swearing is allowed :P I tend too...cuss a lot when I die. I don't get mad at people (never) I just say things like aw you fucker!
...and I thought of how all those people died, and what a good death that is. That nobody can blame you for it, because everyone else died along with you, and it is the fault of none, save those who did the killing.
