I have concocted an elaborate explanation for why Borfase and Khoo look like they do:

The picture was meant to have just Bogey, Nads, and Khoo. Borfase wanders up with that expression on his face right as it was being taken, and Khoo is therefore looking at him like the neckbeard he is because of it.
