Hmmm....these military VP objectives kind of snowball with encouraging people to pick on the weaker players and leave the leader alone. Totally calling this game for Creuss right now. Short of a major unified effort I don't see anything dislodging his lead or position, but there's really no incentive to do that instead of going for the easy VPs.
I've played a few half-games in person (normally the games takes two nights since we can only play for 3~4ish hours a night and it takes 6ish to do a full game for us ...) and maybe one complete game? Can't quite remember. Certainly not enough times to have much familiarity with the races or even the newer strategy cards.
I have played the base game twice (once since we started this one). I was Jol Nar in my second live game, and I think that this has proved to be a very useful education.
