Gift #2 is on its way! Just one more to sort out this weekend and its all over. Really got a kick out of picking things out, but I really need to do something more creative next time.

Santee, please bear with me. The gift I am still waiting for finally got shipped out! Even though I got notification that it shipped on the 4th, it actually got picked up yesterday.
Once I have this item, I will be able to ship out your present in all its glory!
You guys are making a mockery of the postal service with your slang and nicknames as first names.
Smokey, this is not 'Nam. This is the mail. There are rules.
I always do Firstname "ForumName" Lastname to decrease the chance of having the package be snatched up by customs and the person who it was meant for being unable to prove it belongs to them.
@Chen, not sure if this works anymore, but if the broken case matters to you, try this
You could also go to Gamestop. Since they started putting DS games in the glass cases they just throw away and cases the get. If you ask nicely they may give you one. Then you just switch out the artwork and have a nice case.

So my santa is sending me semi-cryptic questions regarding my hobbies...that's to say my hobbies may be not well known to them, but they are doing some serious stalking/research on me.

After a brief inspection only Layla sticks around, she looks hungry.
A letter is on top! With a poem!
Better put that aside for now, Layla is going to eat ... something!
Ah, peanut butter. That explains a lot. A little melty but the refrigerator will fix that.
A present for the dogs?
An antler. I'd give you more pictures of it but Layla promptly ran under the dining room table with it. Rocky was shocked at her lack of manners.
Hmmm, an ornament?
Pretty!
Ok. On to the card.
Ohhh, mysterious! The books are The Scar by China Mieville and The Forever War by Joe Haldeman. Pretty good stalking Santa, I actually already own The Forever War. Don't fear, Amazon swaps out books you own for credit. I actually bought 2 books I've had my eye on with that, Six Moon Dance by Sheri S. Tepper and Scriber by Ben S. Dobson.
The Steam gift is FTL! Thanks Santa:)
Santa seems to think I know who they are now, but I must be dense because I don't! Your steam name isn't a forum name, and your forum name isn't in your steam profile!

'Twas the week before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;
The stockings were hung by the couch with care,
In hopes that Secret Santa soon would be there;
The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of Star Wars Angry Birds danced in their heads;
And mamma in her jeans, and I in my jacket,
Had just about left for a long afternoon of work,
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the hallway to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the curtains and threw open the door.
The sun on the breast of the grassy front lawn
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below,
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a UPS truck, and driver carrying a package with care,
With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be Secret Santa.
More rapid than eagles he came to my step,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called me by name;
"Now, ArcSyn! now, if this is your abode!
On, ArcSyn! this package I shall bestow!
To the top of the porch! to the front of the door!
Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!"
As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky,
So up to the door step the driver flew,
With the box in hand, and signature pad too.
And then, in a twinkling, I had package in hand
The prancing and pawing of my hand.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Down to the floor with Secret Santa package bound.
He was packed with care, from the top to the bottom,
And with packing peanuts, wrapped in bubble wrap;
A bundle of toys he had stuff in this box,
And it looked like a treasure just opening this pack.
My eyes -- how they twinkled! my dimples how merry!
My cheeks were like roses, my nose like a cherry!
My droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard of his chin was shaved clean you know;
The multitool knife I held tight in my teeth,
And the bubble wrap soon encircled my head like a wreath;
I had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook, when I laughed like a bowlful of jelly.
I was ecstatic and pumped, as a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw it, in spite of myself;
A wink of my eye and a twist of my head,
Soon gave my wife to know she had nothing to dread;
I spoke many a word, but went straight to my work,
And tore open the package; then turned with a jerk,
And laying my finger aside of the game,
And giving a nod, a shout did arose;
I sprang to my car, to my wife gave a kiss,
And away I flew like the down of a thistle.
But I failed not to exclaim, ere I drove out of sight,
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!"

Dear Jonathan/ArcSyn,
Merry Christmas! Christmas is a time for Comic Sans! Enclosed in this box you will find two smaller packages for you. I hope you enjoy them both.

The rest of the content of the box are for you and your family's Christmas morning - some favorites from around this area.

Bubble Wrap! You may think I'm kidding, but I'm so putting this in my kids stockings to puff them up and so they can spend an hour playing with it on Christmas.
I bought bubble wrap today to pack my gifts in, Santee! I almost thought to just wrap up the bubble wrap and send it because, really, what better present?
PROPER::ahem:: Maple Syrup! I remember going to a maple syrup company in Vermont on our way through when I was in high school maybe, maybe younger, and we got maple syrup then and it was a prized possession for a good few months after that until we ran out. This is MUCH larger!
Apple Butter! We are going to have a TASTY Christmas morning!
Need pancakes to put that syrup on!
And don't forget the coffee! I don't actually own a coffee maker, as I don't drink it regularly, but my mother, brother-in-law, and father-in-law will make sure one is available for this coffee! And I do drink it, so I will definitely be enjoying a cup or two or three of this!
Two presents for me!
Picross 3D! That fills me with glee! I tried the demo of this and nearly bought it! I have already gone through every beginner puzzle!
Xenoblade!!!!!!!!! I cannot tell you how many times I have looked at this game in the store and tried to justify buying it to my wife and backlog! Thank you sir! That is above and beyond and absolutely fantastic!
The whole haul!
Unfortunately, the kids were sleeping when I opened this, and I neglected to get pictures of them with it after naptime, but I will make sure to return after Christmas with pictures of breakfast and coffee! In the meantime, enjoy the picture we put on our Christmas cards.
Oh, and the fun part? My wife is pregnant right now, and whenever she is pregnant she gets over-reactive hypoglycemia. She can't have sugar or white/enriched flour which rules out a lot of breads, any sweets, and normal pasta. As you may have guessed, this rules out pancakes, maple syrup, and apple butter. More for me! mwahahaha!

Santa, I need to address a couple of things, some of which you mentioned in your letter.
I feel bad for rushing you. I was just getting nervous. There had been no communication until just recently.
I really dug the stapler. It was not a "misfire" as you put it.
I saw the packing slip for WWE 13. You mentioned in your letter that this was the hardest item to work on. I can see that, seeing that you paid to have the game sent to you first so you could bubble wrap it and put a sticky note on the cover to reference an in-joke and then have it shipped back to me
I actually have been loving what I've heard of Like A Version for years, and I just started listening to Tame Impala like...two weeks ago.
But the cost of shipping! And the prices on the packing slip!
I asked for a surprises and I certainly got them. I haven't heard of most of the stuff I got and that's fantastic.
@Gutterkisser, you are so...dedicated it's scary. You make me want to have been a better Santa.
I felt the poison before I saw the dame. Was it in her scent? Her lips? Her mystery? Hell, even the land wants me dead so why not her? All I know is if I'm going down, might as well burn her down too. Give her a taste of her own venoms. Help her remember what she did. The chaos of the club. The night I took the case. The damned goannas. Show her how deadly everyone can be down here, when your whole world's turned upside down.

@Elkatas I finished To The Moon last night. It was amazing! I'm really glad you gifted it to me, because I would have never bought it otherwise after hearing that it was sad.

You need your own box anywhere unless you're getting premium shipping. If you take a bare item into a UPS Store for FedexOffice they'll gladly sell you a box and packing. At 20lbs it's not going to be cheap, fedex will probably be your best bet. You can go on the websites for all three and get price quotes
life's a game that you're bound to lose / like using a hammer to pound in screws
fuck up once and you break your thumb / if you're happy at all then you're god damn dumb
that's right we're on a fucked up cruise / God is dead but at least we have booze
bad things happen, no one knows why / the sun burns out and everyone dies
If it helps, it goes by weight and not size, so the box dimensions shouldn't matter.
For UPS and FedEx this is only true up to a certain size. There is a size threshold where it starts to matter. However, with ground I think that size is pretty big.
As for your choices, if you aren't using the flat rate boxes for USPS, I think they get expensive plus they kind of suck. I like FedEx the best and use their website to just print out shipping labels. Convenient and not too expensive. I shipped a 20lb box from Philly to San Diego for at the most $20.
Did arcsyn run out on his family at the end of that story?
Haha! I got the package at lunch, and I was getting ready to go back to work for the afternoon when UPS pulled up. So I was a little late getting back.
Hug your Santa for buying you Xenoblade Chronicles. So, so, so, so good.
Next time I'm in Vermont I'll make sure to do that. The funny thing is the price different between Xenoblade on Amazon and GameStop. New @ GameStop $50. New on Amazon (from third party sellers) $150. The sad part is they are probably selling them too.

Hug your Santa for buying you Xenoblade Chronicles. So, so, so, so good.

You need your own box anywhere unless you're getting premium shipping. If you take a bare item into a UPS Store for FedexOffice they'll gladly sell you a box and packing. At 20lbs it's not going to be cheap, fedex will probably be your best bet. You can go on the websites for all three and get price quotes
fuck up once and you break your thumb / if you're happy at all then you're god damn dumb
that's right we're on a fucked up cruise / God is dead but at least we have booze
bad things happen, no one knows why / the sun burns out and everyone dies
Because I hate you too.

Haha! I got the package at lunch, and I was getting ready to go back to work for the afternoon when UPS pulled up. So I was a little late getting back.
Next time I'm in Vermont I'll make sure to do that. The funny thing is the price different between Xenoblade on Amazon and GameStop. New @ GameStop $50. New on Amazon (from third party sellers) $150. The sad part is they are probably selling them too.
Maybe watch this on repeat.
