    but how do they know it was instantaneous?

    i mean how long does it really take for light to travel one meter?

    I would venture a guess that they have some sort of scientific gadget to help them determine that.

    Or else, I mean, it'd be pretty god damn stupid to watch something go incredibly fast and then immediatly attribute that to the breaking of the light barrier.

    The big question to be asked now is if information can be transmitted via photon tunneling. All "faster-than-light" phenomena I've read about before forbid the transmission of information via the phenomenon, making them worthless for areas like communications and computing.
