So they finally got around to porting Half-Life: Source & Half-Life: Source Deatmatch to the SteamPipe file system; leaving the 2006 & 2007 Source SDK's at the only things left that use the GCF system.. Well, and MINERVA: Metastasis.
In support of the Steam for Linux release we have made Half-Life: Source available on Linux and Mac OS X.
This beta involves significant changes for all platforms and your testing is appreciated, please report any bugs to our GitHub page.
Linux and OS X users can simply install the Half-Life: Source application to access the beta. You MUST also opt into the Beta version of Half-Life 2 when testing on Linux and OSX, you can do this by right clicking the game in your Library, choose properties and then go to the Beta tab. Select the SteamPipe beta to start testing.
For Windows users right click the game in your Library, choose properties and then go to the Beta tab. Select the SteamPipe beta to start testing. Under windows to opt out of testing simply deselect the beta option on this same page.
Also, there was a super small beta update to Half-Life 1 back on the 9th
We have released a Beta update for Half-Life and associated games.
Changes in this update are:
Fixed crash when loading maps with malformed entity data
EDIT: Oh god, I just realized I originally made this thread like a year ago.
We have released a Beta update for Half-Life: Source.
Changes in this update are:
Added support for custom FOV settings as we have in our Source engine games
Fixed Audio options dialog
Fixed Chapter 3 not starting at the correct map
Fixed blood color on aliens to more closely match original Half-Life 1
Fixed sentry guns not firing correctly
Fixed headcrab not playing all their sounds
Fixed scientists not engaging in their question and answer dialog
Fixed crowbar sounds to more closely match original Half-Life 1
So I dug up a couple of cool Black Mesa tidbits on the forums.
The first is that they sent textFAMGUY1 (the dude adding maps to Surface Tension and On a Rail) a job application, so he could wind up working on Xen or multiplayer if they choose to hire him.
The second, which is HUGE news, is that they're going to port Black Mesa to the Source 2013 engine, and then release the source code on github!
We have ported the game to Source 2013 for Windows. We will be putting our code up on github for the next release to allow people to port our game to the platforms they wish. We have a lot on our plate to contend with so it's doubtful we'll have time to do a Mac/Linux port ourselves.
This is big news since this will allow people to modify the game; back porting features to HL2, adding VR or mac/linux support, or tweaking the game to fit different opinions. Previously it seemed like they weren't going to do this, leaving modders only able to making new maps or models, or skill.cfg files.
Given how it feels like half the posts here are mine, I'd certainly hope I'm the reason you have this thread bookmarked.
Anywho, new beta patch for Half-Life: Source
We have released a Beta update for Half-Life: Source.
Changes in this update are:

Man I didn't think there was any chance they were going to start fixing things in HL: Source. Did they fix the music cues and some of the AI dialogue stuff with guards you're scripted to overhear and shit? If so I might feel better about suggesting it first-time HL players over the goldsrc version.
I was going to post about that; but it's almost certainly not Half-Life 3 related so I didn't bother. Gabe teased that news about Valve's hardware plans was coming next week, so it's almost certainly that.
In other news, more Half-Life: Source patches!

Just tried out the HD models, works as advertized.
Half-Life 3 got announced, update the thread title and OP.
Trust me, if Half-Life 3 ever gets announced fo rizzle, the whole internet will explode with the announcement. Your computer will just say Half-Life 3 announced for like, five days.
Hell, you can feel the internet inhale everytime Valve does pretty much ANYTHING because there might be some Half-Life 3 clue in it. After the last FIVE freakouts over shit that had nothing to do with ANYTHING, I would love it if Valve just put out a completely unambiguous trailer. No ARG, no sly wordplay. Just a one line press release that said "Hey, we're making Half-Life 3. Here's a trailer:"

There are instances of three all over the presumed Steam Box page. Now I wouldn't be surprised at a Half-Life 3 bundle with the device, but they're probably just fucking with us. And at this point I expect any possible game announcement to just be Left 4 Dead 3.

See this is what I'm talking about. People are seeing patterns where they don't need to. Three is a common number!
I remember people seeing a Lambda symbol in Saxton Hale's arm, next to his three exposed fingers. This was like four years ago!
When Valve wants us to know something is coming, we'll know something is coming. Portal 2's ARG was started by a obviously suspicious Portal 1 update. All of the TF2 arg's have been wrapped up in major website updates like the Living Room page; but they were obviously hidden links and not people going "Hrm, there's 3 things they're announcing and the gamepad has three buttons on it...."
I want them to announce Half-Life 3, and I get the fun of trying to dig up secret messages from Valve, but I think the Internet has been darting at shadows for far too long.
Man, I really wish Valve would fix the music bug in HL1 mods. I'm totally going to go on a mod binge if they do that.

I haven't considered HL3 as a "launch title" for the Steambox. That does make some sense.
I could even see them doing an Orange Box 2 with L4D3, HL3, and whatever else.
Give me a kiss to build a dream on; And my imagination will thrive upon that kiss; Sweetheart, I ask no more than this; A kiss to build a dream on

Even though it's not even connected to the internet...
EDIT: Apparently some people were trying to "solve" the twitter background image of Valve employee Greg Coomer until he told them to stop. I'm enjoying this a little too much.
EDIT2: And Marc Laidlaw said the announcements were "all about Steam."
Almost certainly bullshit, but we'll find out for sure in eight hours. I'm trying to remain skeptical as possible, but a tiny glimmer of excitement has been ignited in me; just by imagining how I'd react if it were to happen.
Also, Valve has got to be trolling us. You can JUST BARELY make out a shape that looks like vaguely like a HL3 symbol. Obviously it's just noise, but someone at Valve had to look at that and go "Hmm, that looks kinda like a HL3 symbol"
If that turns red on Wednesday, then it'll be on track to turn orange on Friday too.
Like I said earlier, Laidlaw said these announcements are Steam related, so I highly expect we won't see any game announcement on Friday and that the dude above is full of shit.

This is what I read:
Battlenet ID: MildC#11186 - If I'm in the game, send me an invite at anytime and I'll play.
Music cues aren't an issue in it, since it was designed from the ground up with the source engine's flaws in mind.

portal 3
and episode 3
Team Fortress 3.
The game is simply called "3".
Subtitle: "A distant prequel to 7."
And you know, I could actually see Valve releasing a game titled 3. Just, you know, as a troll.
In their position, I don't think I'd be able to resist.
Based on the Kieron Gillen comic of the same name?
Why I fear the ocean.
Or this
And especially not this.
But maybe this guy is on to something
