I don't even remember Melissa McCarthy in Heat. Maybe it was that amazing Robert DeNiro/Al Pacino scene in the diner that drowned out every other actor in my mind except maybe Val Kilmer.

I thought The Heat was a pretty funny movie, actually
like not Bridesmaids-level funny, for an easy comparison, but I watched it on a plane and found it to be a fine plane movie

I find that to be incredibly boring comedy
When I finally watched it I was pleasantly surprised. It's a far cry from being a great movie but it is genuinely funny in some parts.
Though, in her defense, it is Hollywood and Hollywood loves its typecasting.
