Cultural discussion, and especially on the internet, has shifted in recent years such that everything has to be the fucking coolest shit ever, and if it isn't then it's fucking garbage not worth anyone's time

    It's unfortunate

I thought The Heat was a pretty funny movie, actually

like not Bridesmaids-level funny, for an easy comparison, but I watched it on a plane and found it to be a fine plane movie

All of Melissa McCarthy's comedy seems to revolve around the fact that she's fat

I find that to be incredibly boring comedy

Also, I like Melissa McCarthy. I didn't see the Heat for the longest time because I don't find Sandra Bullock funny at all.

When I finally watched it I was pleasantly surprised. It's a far cry from being a great movie but it is genuinely funny in some parts.

Though, in her defense, it is Hollywood and Hollywood loves its typecasting.

The trailer for Tammy is one of the most painful things I've witnessed

And I've seen it in front of like three different movies now

huh so they're just straight up playing Let It Go on the radio now
when was the last time that happened? I mean outside of like, the pop versions of songs from the other movies, I don't think a Disney song has just been pulled right from the movie and put on air

It's definitely been a long time, but I'm pretty sure it has happened before, with either Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, or the Lion King.

The muzak box at my restaurant plays A Whole New World pretty regularly. It's definitely in this month's rotation, I've heard it almost every day at work lately.

So apparently that whole James Franco thing (that did occur on April 1st, after all) may have just been a hoax to promote his new film

His new film which had the trailer hit the same day

And is about an older man seducing an underage girl

I don't even remember Melissa McCarthy in Heat. Maybe it was that amazing Robert DeNiro/Al Pacino scene in the diner that drowned out every other actor in my mind except maybe Val Kilmer.

Third option: James Franco's PR team deserve one hell of a raise for getting that trailer made and released in time to cover his ass.

wait the alan partridge movie is opening in the US this week?

Man I have no idea how that will go down.

I wasn't mad about it, it was a really weird story to put that character in. Had some good jokes though.
