Its up to the developer to determine when they are ready to 'release'. Some developers have a concrete deadline in mind, while others will get a better sense as the development of the game progresses. You should be aware that some teams will be unable to 'finish' their game. So you should only buy an Early Access game if you are excited about playing it in its current state.
It was the little details that made MGS awesome. Guards stretched and yawned and closed their eyes and that showed up on the radar, too. You could see their breath outside in the cold and that's how you tracked Sniper Wolf without the thermal goggles. Running through a puddle created a splash noise. And cutscenes that were fully voiced? Impossible.

then i cooked a breakfast consisting of
smoked gouda omelets
hash with asparagus and bacon
toasted coconut, cinnamon sugar, and chocolate almond streusal domuts
then i went and played racist boardgames with @Casual Eddy
we failed to save the world
then i had a pizza, half mushrooms and truffle oil half meatlovers with wine
and a cab back to the apartment
now i need to decide if i have it in me to type my poetry submissions
genuinely unsure whether I'm hungry or if I'm going to throw up in an hour

i also only had one beer and stayed within my diet

The Bees kind of went into hibernation after we burnt out on Halo 4.
Small numbers ended up playing various games together for a while but nothing to the extent of the glory days of Halo 2 and 3.

It wasn't the worst for me but I didn't enjoy it as much as I expected.
Let me put it this way: I watched Hulk (Ed Norton), Thor, and Captain America all in a marathon the day before Avengers came out.
- I enjoyed Hulk more than I expected
- I enjoyed Thor a fuckton more than I expected
- I enjoyed Captain America far less than I expected
A part of this is certainly that I had high hopes for Captain America while I expected very little from Hulk and only slightly more from Thor.
Thor completely exceeded my expectations. Definitely my favorite of the three. Captain America wasn't bad, per se, but it was rather boring and long.
