We should all go to the Rennisance (sp?) Festival in Crownsville .... Cheesecake on a Stick you guys.
Giant turkey leg all up ins.
I actually went to the Renaissance Festival like two weeks back with friends. But I would be down for going again, because man, pudgy girls in tight corsets are sweet. Or the food is stupendous

Scotch eggs and elephant rides ftw.
Went for the first time ever the day before my birthday this year. 9/9/07 was almost as awesome as 9/9/99 (Dreamcast, bitches)

I had no interest in a renaissance festival ever, until you implied boobs just now.
I haven't done the update yet today! Still at work, so not enough time to read back over the thread since my last update. I'll do it when I get home or if I get a nice slow chunk of time today.
Haha. I was about to make a post here when I got to work.. and just got here.
Ok, so regarding time frames. I agree, weekends will work best for most (At least it seems so far).
My comments on times:
It's October... I'm sure plenty will have things going on at the end of it. So, I'm sure for this month that gives us the next 3 weekends or so to do something.
If not in October, I'd say only the first 2 weekends of November, after that people are far more likely to be busy planning holiday stuff.
If none of those look good to most, then wait till after the New Year. December is always fuck busy and people are usually planning shit and spending too much money to bother with something like this.
I'm free on any weekend as long as I have enough notice to have not made any plans yet (so about a weeks heads up at most).
As an organizer of a couple diff. groups in my area, you have to just bite the bullet, and name a time/place. Nothing will work for EVERYONE, but the majority will be ok with what you name. I figure, somewhere in DC/NoVA will work, and pick a weekend. Maybe a sat night or sunday brunch but just pick SOMETHING.
Also, I could possibly pick people up depending on where we go and if you are on the way. Any weekend is fine for me, just heads up notice so I don't plan anything.
I say we meet up and go there, and maybe also like to dinner, or something.
This will be Saturday, October 13th, In Rockville (walking distance from White Flint on the Red Line.)
One day admission is only eight bucks, and all sorts of neat indie comic guyswill be there. In past years there hasbeen Harvey Pekar, and Tony Millionaire, and Scott McCloud, and many other folks.
edit: among this years folks are such notables as Jeff Smith and Bill Griffith.

Nice.
This is both a time and place, and unlike the last event mentioned isn't super short notice.
I'd be game for this. Anyone in the Rockville area know of some good eats for before/after the show where we can chill? Otherwise I'm sure we can find someplace without too much hassle.
I don't see why throwing things at my old highschool implies otherwise. I'm not implying that we should damage the building, more that we should egg it, or something else which is annoying, but temporary.
Or we could engage in anti-semitic graffiti all around it, and then sit back and enjoy the ensuing mediacircus.
on a serious note, though, there are plenty of eating places nearby, and I for one wouldn't mind offeringup space in my carf if we want to drive somewhere, rather than just hoof it
I would totally be down for the SPX. I was thinking of going, if only to see Matt Wagner and offer him a bj. Let us know if that is cool.
I'm fine with it, just make sure you do it in private and clean up afterwards... I mean, it'd be kind of awkward walking around the place with you otherwise.

Maybe down on the Mall, in front of the White House instead?

I'm seeing Beethoven's 9th next weekend at the Kennedy center so I'm stoked. We should all do something on columbus day.
"Oh what a day, what a LOVELY DAY!"
I...I shudder at the thought of that.
I had no interest in a renaissance festival ever, until you implied boobs just now.
I'll update the main page again later with names/ideas since last update.
Like, show up wearing a spacesuit, or something.
HOW DARE YOU.
I use it...
never

we need a TIME AND PLACE.
I say dinner. That way we can talk and get to know eachother and then figure out what we want to do.
"Oh what a day, what a LOVELY DAY!"
Meh. We should cut the bullshit, and just skip to the fucking.
God, you didn't even try for romance... you cad you.
Are you at least paying?
on the Mall?
I'm in.
When we get arrested, we just start yelling about how the Washington monument is obscene
and then blame rap music
I updated with the rest of the names so far that have said they are game.. including yours... happy now? :P
Shall I call you, or nudge you?
"Oh what a day, what a LOVELY DAY!"
A weekend seems to be the best time as everyone should have weekends off. People should start spitting out times they know they will be free.

there is also white flint mall right across the street.
also, depending on how many folks we have going, and how many cars, there is no lack of places to go (it is right on the Pike).
Also, we can go throw things at my old high school.
I sense subtle hostility!
naw, just more of a "thingto do ifwe are bored"
it is a fancy looking private school.
they have giant gates, but no fence
