As a dude who likes Speed Racer I think watching it after Fury Road would just make its flaws waaaaay more glaring since Fury Road is so exceedingly well made
It is kind of unbelievable how exceptional the film is. The minimalist dialogue, the body acting, the editing, the sound, the beauty of the world. I was stunned that it lived up to all the hype I've seen.
Oh! I did have one small question about something Furiosa said that I wasn't quite able to figure out.
As they're on their way to the "green place" Max asks if Furiosa's done this before, and she says something like "plenty of times". I took that to mean that she's made this specific run plenty of times, but obviously she doesn't know what happened to the green place, and the lady tribe doesn't recognize her. Then I figured he was asking if she'd snuck people out in general before, but I doubt she'd get away with that "plenty of times". Given that, I was a little confused on what exactly they were talking about there. Or did I just not hear them right/missed some other bit of info?
