I'm still here. I'll probably bring a couple of my buddies. If that van thing idea is still being tossed around, I'm up for it.

Yeah. Give me a schedule of when you're leaving and I'll chip in for gas or something.

I get out of class at 3:00 so I'll probably be leaving from WSU around 3:30 - 4:00 or so. Not sure when I'll head back on Sunday...probably somewhere around 4:00 - 6:00 PM so I can get back in enough time to wake up Monday (8:00 AM class sucks).

Gee, I knew I shoulda been checking this more often. <G> Nyet on Das Van, Tim - it's acting non-highway-trustable at the mo', and I don't want to strand anyone/anything. (Something in the front end - bearings, ball joints, not sure, but it's gooshy-feeling.) I'm looking at a rental car or better. ($300 for a van?!?)(Note: Das Van may become available, but I can't say for sure *now*, y'dig? Got the removable bench seats out, so it's possible to carry 8 [cramped/real friendsly] or 6 [comfortably] or 4 [1/2 cargo].)

Food: dollar menu. <G> It's even cheaper if you bring/cook your own, but whether you have cooking facilities... them little George Foreman grills are nice, but limit you as to what you get to eat. (And would have to be used on the balcony, as well; less power drain than a micro, h'wever.)

Me, I'm budgeting for something *special*: Fatburger. (http://www.fatburger.net/)(120 Bellvue Way
NE) Charbroiled Double Kingburger with Cheese and Bacon. Gluttonicious...

Did some checking into vans, with the following schedule in mind - leave AM on 27 Aug (Friday), return AM Aug 30 (Monday) - four day rental basically. As of right now, the VW is no go - need to replace the distributor, haven't gotten a road trip in her yet. It seats 7, but would be slow going with that many - more like 5 to be realistic with gear.

So - here's what I found thus far:

    8 Passenger - $264 + Tax and other fees = $300 Plus Fuel
    8 peeps = $38 ea
    7 peeps = $43 ea
    6 pee9s = $50 ea
any less and get a minivan which will be about the same price... :?

    12 Passenger - $480 + Tax =$550 Plus Fuel
    12 peeps = $46 ea
    11 peeps = $50 ea
    10 peeps = $55 ea
These are "special order" sort of rents

If full of peoples, there will be room for one suitcase (or similar) so not real good for hauling peoples AND computers. That's round one anyway - availablity is all over the place - hell, it costs $10 to pick it up at the airport - and "access fee" they call it.

I'll make some calls to see if there is anything else out there.

    So - with fewer peoples

The "official' room rate is $79 for saturday night, I will check if that's good for Friday and Sunday as well.
With four peoples per room (with tax and what not we are talking $90 per night) - that's $22.50 * 3 = $67.50

Transportation and lodgind will set you back $105.50 to $122.50, not including fuel - and that's if we have four per room.

So - add in $20 a head for gas (yes, it's going to cost at LEAST that much) you'll need to budget $125 to $150 to get there and back.

Food - heh, no clue here yet gang

I actually do have one of those small George Foreman cookers that my grandma bought me (for herself bless her ;) ) if anybody needs it. Put a frozen burger patty on there, and in 3.5 minutes you got yourself a really nicely cooked burger. Nice working the budget Tim!

I'd deffinately be in for this little run.. although I greatly depends on available fundage. And with no employment currently, this could be somewhat difficult.

Wow, even some Pullman-ites here these days. I'd go, but I don't think it's going to work out for me anymore (I live in pullman as well).

I grew up here on the east side (Chewelah) and it amazes me of how many Spo-kompton, Spo-kanistan, etc etc names there are. I don't know any other cities with that many plays on its city name.
