Biggest issue with WoW is they fall back on the both sides being at war with each other plots even when they shouldn't be. So every expansion we're back to slugging it out against each other because reasons.
The other issue is like a comic different writers take over and decide they hate what the previous ones did and now this side/this character is totally always been like this for real.

Really, they should just do away with the factions not being able to group. That hold over from old faction based gameplay is so mechanically stupid these days in a multiplayer game.
