Good to note that the Orsinium in ESO isn't even the first Orsinium, there's actually the ruins of an older Orsinium that is a Public Dungeon in Wrothgar. So it is, perfectly reasonable to assume that Orsinium might be one of those orcish symbols that is built up and ultimately destroyed by the machinations of its peoples.
    Spoiler regarding Old Orsinium:
The stuff you learn in Old Orsinium seems to suggest that Malacath tends to take an interest in the happenings of Orsinium. I imagine having a Daedric prince of struggle and conflict is never a great way to ensure the stability of a city.

    Heh.
with that particular Daedra it's probably really rather sad. Poor Malacath is probably like "okay THIS time I'm gonna have a FUCKING AWESOME SANDCASTLE" and then Boethiah is like "hee hee remember that time I pooped you out. of my butt. :3" and then Malacath yells IT WAS A METAPHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOR and the Orcs have another civil war.

Wow, did one of the shadow of hist dungeons tonight, that was super fun. Ruins of Mazzatun I think it was, lil bit longer than the usual ones ive done, but the boss fights were really fun. Im really enjoying the challenges of the dungeons while leveling.

Hit CP60. Feels fairly fast so far.

Trying to decide if it's worth trying to collect a certain dungeon set before I hit CP160. Probably not.

  • UncleSporkyUncleSporky Registered User regular
I got to 160 last night!

And yeah it's not worth it before 160. I'd say it's better to devote a lot of time to questing in a single zone, and you will naturally tend to gather most of a set just from that. I got a full CP130-150 Briarheart set from Wrothgar, doing its quests and dailies. Gotta replace that now!

So for the folks who wanted a guild tabard... I got one picked out and all set (green and white) a couple nights ago but then when I went to buy it, it popped up a notice that once finalized, guild members could then purchase their own from the guild store. The implication, if I understand correctly, is that even if we have a tabard, we need to have a guild store before you can actually get the tabard to wear. And I'm pretty sure guild stores are stupidly expensive to get...

I may be wrong about all this. I have to look into it more. But just wanted to keep you in the loop why you don't have one yet. I hadn't forgotten.

You go to the bank, and go to the "Guild store" there and buy it for 2k gold.

Another guild i'm in just has 10 people in the roster and had the heraldry done. Its not the big guild store you need for it.

Guild tabard is a go. You can buy one at the guild store for 2000 gold. The guild store is accessed by speaking to a banker.

I can't tell you shit. I had to circle around each of his locs to check for his spawn like every other scrub while testing, and that's how I do it now.

*edit* Except while testing I could admittedly teleport to do it :V And then console spawn him. Or, y'know, consoling to just give myself the achievement. The point is that THESE DAYS I have to sit around going "Where the FUCK are you Mai'q? Getting high again, probably" like everyone else.

(I am historically lucky when it comes to him, however; I guess he likes me.)

I see that guy from time to time when travelling. There is merit in horsing around instead of waypoints...

I mostly fish and hunt for books/skyshards in this game nowadays. I really need to start advancing the thieve's guild missions, and buy Wrothgar while it is on sale...

But on the other hand, I am completing deeds in LotRO and that has taken most of my time lately...

And I need to make some Hunding armor for myself (again), then there's some dicking around in Cyrodiil and so much other things that it scares me! I need to focus on something.

  • Lucid_SeraphLucid_Seraph TealDeer MarylandRegistered User regular
oh also okay now I do remember

M'aiq DOES NOT spawn in Bleakrock Isle, Glenumbra, Cyrodiil, or any of the expansion zones.

He can be spawned in multiple zones simultaneously; eg, he can be up in both Coldharbour and Reaper's March at the same time. Basically, he's instanced *by map*, not for the whole planet.

I do NOT know if he's ALWAYS spawned. That is, I don't know if he's always in at least ONE of the possible locations on each map, or if he can not be spawned in at all. I do know he can't be in more than one location on a single map.

Whether or not he's spawned at a given spot is 100% random and has nothing to do with anything. I don't know how long he sticks around before despawning, however.

I don't know if he's instanced per-player or if he's there for everybody; I *think* it's the latter, but I need to test this personally.

This add-on: http://www.esoui.com/downloads/info667-Destinations.html will at least give you all his POSSIBLE locations on a map, so you're not just blundering around like ????? My usual thing is to rotate between his different possible locs until I find him; that's worked pretty well so far.

I suppose one of my gripes with the Aldmeri Dominion is that their two first zones (after starting island) are just so bland and generic. Second zone slightly less than the first.

The console's and PC are not linked in any way, account wise, right? I was considering grabbing it on PS4, but I have crowns and special mounts and stuff on my PC account. Can you play the PC version with a controller?

I think I just need to transfer all my cash to one character, delete all my others (I have no one over level 16) and start fresh. Every time I login I'm intimidated by all the weird character experiments I have, mostly because I never quite got my head around the class system in this. I watched some videos last night and I think I finally have some grasp of it.

At some point I gotta switch back to my Khajiit NB though because I miss the sneak-and-stab playstyle. Also, it's way easier to clean out a town for fencing as a Khajiit NB.

*edit* UGHH why does this game take SO long to patch? I just patched the damn thing two days ago and now here's ANOTHER giant patch. And it's a huge memory hog while it does, arrgh.

Nothing has changed inventory-wise (that I can think of) unless you sub, in which case you get an infinite storage bag for all crafting mats... which pretty much makes storage space a non-issue.

I do wish that leveling went faster, or that there was some way like in Guild Wars 2 to just punch your character to max immediately, because like... I want to make a third alt (Templar Healz this time), but I don't really want to waste time doing the same damn quests again and again to get there. Like I've done everything through level 30 in all 3 zones and the entire Fighter's Guild / Mage's Guild quest line when I worked for ZOS and it's like OKAYYY IM BORED NOW

And random exploration is even more boring because 90% of my own job was making sure loot containers were 1. not clipping too bad and 2. flagged with the correct loot table, so I have literally seen every corner of the main map and most of Craglorn. If I ever get high enough level to do the Serpent Raid let me tell you buddy, I know that map way too well (I wonder if my secret skeleton friend is still there, and I hope they fixed the map break in there because it wasn't a fun map break, it was a "well now I'm stuck in a hole forever" map break)

*edit* The dungeons really are legit the best content in the game tho. Beautiful design too. There's this one spider daedra who has this amazing shadow effect that's freaking terrifying when you first encounter her.

No, just double resources from resource nodes, as well as double the random loot containers from dailies and Maelstrom.

And random exploration is even more boring because 90% of my own job was making sure loot containers were 1. not clipping too bad and 2. flagged with the correct loot table, so I have literally seen every corner of the main map and most of Craglorn.

I was reading this article a while ago and I remember them talking about all the changes they had to make late in development.
Perhaps the most tedious job was adding more interactive physical objects into the game world. One of the quirks of Elder Scrolls games is that nothing is bolted down. Some Morrowind and Skyrim players have developed a kind of in-game kleptomania, collecting random objects until they have hundreds of pillows or entire 18-person place settings squirreled away in a chest somewhere. To meet that expectation, ESO needed loot, and lots of it.

Every barrel, every box and every shelf fit for the purpose had to have something on it that players could make off with. A gang of nine interns was conscripted to spend weeks adding thousands of interactive objects into the game. The project came to be known internally as "Clickeyville."

    Was that you?
