Dude it was an event planned by Wizards of the Coast, they folks who make the current D&D books (among other things). It was basically a promotional event happening at game stores all across the land.

Yeah that was definitely Patrick Stewart doing it.
I found it kinda weird just cause they did it so trying to be sciency. Talking about everything as if it was 100% real, explaining how everything worked, fighting/mating habits, etc.
I remember it being pretty fun.
