It's very visceral but I'm having trouble figuring out why it exists other than to show that shit was evil. The movie is so near-sighted visually (just about every shot is centered on Saul, even the middle-distance is out of focus) and conceptually, all it can really rely on is its main character, who is largely expressionless and acts with ambiguous motives.
It's not a bad movie, and there are some interesting glimpses into the political workings of a death camp, but it seems to exist as it's own ride than anything else.

So my roommate & I collect Mel Gibson movies, and for a while now we've wanted Ransom.
Well apparently on Amazon.com, Ransom is an add-on item (meaning you have to spend a certain amount of money to be able to order it).
So yesterday I had to spend over twenty-five dollars to be able to get Ransom.
Amazon held Ransom ransom.

TLDR: The Thing prequel originally had awesome practical effects and the studio made them paint over them with CGI. That's why the film looked horrible. Some of the puppets they had looks fucking awesome.
