I wholeheartedly support this thread with every fiber of my being.
I like the Megagurius movie only for the Godzilla design, I wish they stuck with it rather than changing it with damn near every movie with this Millenium series.
Also Godzilla vs. Destroyah and the new Kiryu MechaGodzilla movies were awesome.
It's like a combination of Godzilla, X-men, the Matrix, Independence Day, and a kung fu movie all rolled into one. Plus theres some zangief looking wrestler playing a colonel who's a complete badass. And for some reason he speaks only English while everyone around him is speaking Japanese.

Oh man I watched this so often when I was a kid. There was this one episode, giant lava lizard monsters were trying to make all the world's volcanoes explode that I still remember.
Looking back on it, that show made no sense at all.

I can't wait to tell my children about the greatness of Godzilla.
When I was little my mom and I would have these nights where we'd get pizza and rent some cheesy Godzilla movie or a James Bond movie. It was quite the bonding time and I really enjoyed that when I was six.

This is a pretty accurate description of my childhood as well.
These days we play the Godzilla video games. Good times.

Really, one of the things I like best of Godzilla movies is that there's a guy in the suit. I think it's just fucking fantastic that some guy does it as a job.

It is incredible if you can deal with the cheesy Matrix rip off subplot
Which I can, because it is hilarious
At one point, one dude kicks another dude with his motorcycle

Edit:
I think at one point one dude round house kicked the giant lobster monster in the head. A 100 ft. tall monster. In the head.
Here's the trailer

still probably my favorite
That movie looks pretty great so far
But the Cloverfield monster doesn't kick nearly as much ass as Godzilla

Haha that's awesome.
But, but, Godzilla!
And godzuuuuuuuuuuki
on my 13th birthday. It was nice and flashy but lacked all the retro charm every other Godzilla movie has.
And I watch this city burn
THERE GOES TOKYO
He picks up a bus and he throws it back down
as he wades through the buildings toward the center of tooooown
