So I'm kinda speechless. Which is surprising, because you would think that I would be pretty jaded by now. I don't want to just say "discuss" since it's against the rules, so I'm going to ask the following questions...

As per the show... I can't imagine they'll try to keep it on the air. Nickelodeon is not a teen pregnancy type network. They're, at most, a "boyfriend wants to start kissing too early, but girlfriend says no (time isn't right)" kind of network.
Zoey 101 is gone.
People who slow down to watch when there's an accident or have a police scanner in case there's a train wreck. I actually feel bad for that family.
I prefer to take my time to assert my moral high ground without contributing.
Alternatively, it's a discussion about teen pregnancy and corporate squeamishness in dealing with intimate issues.
This isn't exactly Jolie and Brad spent Saturday as T.G.I. Friday's. What did they order?
I think that after Britanny went crazy, they thought to themselves, "Well, at least we have one daughter who can still be a cash cow."

I actually thought I was being good about it. I screwed up before by not realizing that spoilered images are still rendered more in most browsers. At least I didn't do that.
This may be a little "unPC" of me to say, but since I'm talking about white folks, I'm sure i'll get away with it.
Anyway, the Spears girls have shown to us, like many starlets before them, that making some one famous doesn't change who they are. Whether they're atthe top of the pop charts and on television, or still back home in a trailer park in Loussianna, they're going to be acting the exact same way.
As for why we should care, I think it says something about a failure within our society if we are able to raise people up out of the non-optimal conditions that they grew up in, in order to turn them into stars, but we spend so much time worrying about whether or not they go to T.G.I. Fridays that we forget to teach them about birth control.

That doesn't mean they can't cancel her show though, and claim one of a million other reasons. They could lay this off on the writers strike and get away with it if they wanted to, it's freaking Disney. You can't be a Jew or a Pregnant Teen and work for disney. It's like a rule....
I think it sucks a 16 year old got knocked up, but ya know, shit happens. At least she's in the position to actually be able to take care of it, and not like "take care of it...."

Having a child earlier in your life these days really has no bearing on how many children a woman is going to have over the course of her life. Women aren't baby factories these days.

I was more referring to having children at younger ages, rather than the quantity of them in a lifespan.
Other than potentially cutting their own career short, I don't really see any issue with someone have a child at a younger age, assuming they can support them.
Having a child at 16 isn't really all that young in that grand scheme of humanity.
