Use Swordmaster, the air combo is even better then Nero's.

I found a way to stun lock the frog as Nero is anyone is interested. I eqquiped Yamato, slashed him two or three times on the floor, did a riser move then did a downward slice. I was insta revving a lot I think too, but after every one of those combos he was stunned long enough for me to hammer out another until eventually he was grabbable.

Plus I get the impression Dante is really just fucking with you. I mean, really, he doesn't even bother to Devil Trigger (He might on harder difficulty modes, I'm not there yet) when he's fighting you like he would if he was seriously trying to kill you.

Drive freaking destroys him. like, pull it off twice (all 3 hits) and he's stunned no matter what, I think.

Does mashing the gun button actually shoot the gun during the DB scenes? I thought you can only charge it?

no, if youre DT'd you devil will shoot swords out as its version of bullets. since you cant actively shoot your gun during cutscenes, the trigger can still fire the swords for extra damage even though youre not actively using the blue rose.

welp, my long search for the use of table hopping is over. those japs, they think of everything

notice how nero isnt being hit during the explosion attacks. clever bastards

That's actually Shuffle. The back > forward + Y attack.

The leaderboard is not good for my confidence. I see all these scores that are about x10 higher than mine D:

i am 100% sure that is table hopper. ive done it enough times to notice that the move in the video is:
    1)not attacking after the dodge
2)moving to the side, where shuffle does a step back and does an upward slash

he only uses a level 3 shuffle in the last blast. classy

EDIT: once again I apologise for the shitty quality. Nowhere near desktop quality but it's here if anyone wants to see it

    Ok, finally beat SoS mode.

I intially thought Nero was more fun to play as, but that was before I was deftly able to switch between Trickster > Sword Master > Dark Slayer with Dante. God, you can pull off some ridiculous shit. I actually think Dante teeters on being overpowered, but that contrast between him and Nero is fantastic.

I'm so used to seeing that Dante it was really weird to see him quite a bit older in DMC4. Didn't play much of 1 or any of 2.

So looking at the Angelo's and reading the Bianco Angelo's bios, it seems fairly likely that they were crafted from Nelo Angelo's remains. They were made from the "dark angels" remains and considering their design, it's too close to ignore. Hopefully this hints at Vergil revival.

It looks like all the scarecrows rioting in the streets of Mission 2 are doing the Charlie Brown Christmas dances.

The sound of eight hooves reaches his ears, comes from the heavenly light, two wolves howls fills his heart with fear, and he sees two ravens fly. Down from the sky a warlord rides, like fire his one eye glows, and just before the preacher dies he knows his god is false.

The strategy guide specifically says that they were formed from Nelo Angelo's remains.

Well, I just played a little bit (level one and parts of two) on my friend's Xbox360 on a regular T.V.

I choke-slammed a three story tall demon onto his motherfucking face; totally got to get this for my PS3 with a 64 inch HD.

I believe you have to finish the game on Devil Hunter. I don't think Human unlocks it. Once you do that, it just appears under the level selects for the various difficulties on the mission menu.

Cross posting this here since I somehow missed this thread:

Alright, so the other day I picked up a Japanese PS3 and a copy of DMC4. I've had about four random crashes while it is loading a new level, it just hangs with the sound still playing in the background. This doesn't happen at all outside of the game, or playing anything else on the system, but my disc is pristine. Has this happened to anyone else?

Edit: To clarify I mean loading an area within a level, and it's completely random. I have passed previous crash points with no point, and it has just crashed near the end of the sixth mission while loading (what I assume) must have been the final area. It really stings to have it crash after nine minutes of hard hard work.

The cool thing about Roulette is that it moves you up in the air a little, meaning that with the right combination of Buster, the Grab, Air Hike and Roulette you can stay up there a damn long time.

Dante must die mode is hard. That is all. I'm doing okay but even running out of orbs by this point to buy recovery items and holy water, I COULD grind for more orbs but I'm not that fargone yet.

I don't feel cheap using items every so often because one slip up and I'm down to 2/3rds of my health. Quite happy I only had to use one medium star while fighting Frank West though, but I only contribute that victory due to the fact I was listening to the kickass rock music from Dead Rising whle fighting him (Cletus boss).

Anyone have any good tips for just not getting hit? My mindset now is to jump and roll like a maniac until I see an oppertunity to attack, it's too hard to keep track of every enemy and their attacks to dodge them correctley. The room with 3 angel armours (one gold), about 10 swords and laser traps on each side was pure hell. I resorted to using holy water to frag all the swords and severley damage the armours.

Does anyone else despise it when those insects merge with enemies and give them those whipping vines? God damn I hate those things.

They're my second least-favourite enemy, right after the electric ones. It's just annoying I have to hit them a couple of times then back away and wait until it's safe to go again, especially when the camera gets stuck and I have no idea where they are.

At least with the Knights I know they're hitting me because I screwed up and dodged too late.

I usually just air combo/smack the vine guys, knock them away and charge my sword and gun while taunting to keep my style meter up. Not fun to fight though.
