Red Alert 3! Insert lame "In Soviet Russia" joke here

Hope in the messed up timeline the Allies got Project Grizzly a few decades earlier.
Gosh don't remind me. A million Halo fans going crazy over the novelty of jump pads. I can't tell whether Bungie were geniouses or just cynical when they did that.
Cynical geniuses.
that wasn't even close to why people liked the idea of them and you know better than that.
Actualy, after watching it again, I hope hes the Allied Commando! That would be awesome. He would have BEAR SPRAY! FUCK THOSE BEARS!

Just the thought of this makes me feel like I'm 13 again and have just fried my first allied unit with my first ever tesla coil base defence.
Oh Red Alert, why is it only you can bring back the nostalgia so well?
Those screens are hot.
Wasn't she even played by a different woman in Yuri's Revenge? I remember finding her much hotter in Yuri's Revenge than I did in Red Alert 2. Maybe she just changed her hair color, or something.

I think it was still Kari in Yuri's Revenge.
As for the actor, well they were all terrible, but they were supposed to be. Really, I wouldn't give a damn if they change the actor, I just hope the new one has the same lack of ability to act. I want my cutscenes so cheesy I need to bring out the crackers, dammit!

* The Japan campaign is currently aimed at being unlockable after you finish the Allied or Soviet ones.
* Japan are probably the strongest race in the water at present.
* Many of the Japanese units transform into other ones.
* The fact that your base can be built out at sea is designed to encourage players to use aircraft more.
* There will be significant resources out at sea so naval presence can't be ignored.
* In SP every faction has three commanders who favour a certain style ie tanks and heavy armour or airforce
* A monitor in the corner of the screen shows you the state of the AI and allows you to give four orders: attack or defend a unit or location, stop or help me. Without orders the AI will do it's own thing.
* In MP you can put units in friendly transports, use allied airfields and repair bays and you can give units to another player. You cannot, however, simply give your ally cash, which is designed to make giving units to another player a risk since the units might be ambushed en route to your ally.
* There will be less units with multiple capabilities than in C&C3, so no massing of uber-tanks-that-kill- everything.
* Every unit has a primary and secondary ability (not sure how this meshes with the above point, I'm just copying what it says )
* Online matches will average at 20-30 minutes.
* One of the allied AI commanders is Major Giles, a stiff upper lip British commander specialising in special weapons and aircraft, played by Beowulf actor Greg Ellis.
* There is a weapon called a Time Bomb, which can be chronosphered into your opponents base. In MP this can result in a situation where both players chrono the bomb into each others base like a hot potato until it explodes.
* Mission locations include San Diego, Cape Cod, Amsterdam, Heidelberg, Easter Island, Mount Fuji and Santa Monica.
* Executive producer Chris Corry - "Peter Weller is not in RA3."
* ETA Winter 2008

I'm glad they're bring back naval warfare. That was sorely missing from C&C3.
Hasn't this been around since C&C2? I seem to recall loading GDI infantry into my allie's NOD burrowing-transport.
I think what they mean is units will have abilities like the Allied GI, an ability that makes them more effective against what they're supposed to be used against(Infantry) but doesn't really help when faced with something they weren't(Tanks, aircraft), and less stuff like the mammoth who was effective against nearly ever other unit in the game.
As well as Cannes, France; Havana, Cuba; Polyarnny, Russia; Geneva, Switzerland; and Mykonos, Greece.
There's a lot of cool things to read in this article. Its not going to be vary Rock Paper Scissors like CNC3 kind of is. Things that I find extremely cool is the Grapple/Grinder ability on the Apoc Tank, the new Peacekeeper infantry with there shotguns and riot shields. I Like that most every unit is going to have a secondary weapon, which will make things much more diverse when your playing. It wont be about "well this dosn't kill tanks" and more about "it dosn't do a lot to tanks, but its alt weapon really disables them!"
I also cant wait to see bears, with armor, shooting out of a cannon, and floating with parashoots, with real physics.
Also NUKES? ON A KIROV? Hot damn! I thought they couldn't make that unit any more awesome, but boy was I wrong.

Unless, of course, the Japanese enter because the Soviets attack them, but decide to take advantage of the situation by attacking the Allies, too.
(currently MIA)
To be fair, though, Yuri was from the Soviet Union.
I'm just curious how and why the Japanese enter the war.
(currently MIA)
Japan got all tired of Kirovs flying overhead and decided to fuck everybody up?
Or they couldn't sit around and let the U.S. corner the market on ridiculous technologies like Chronospheres and weather machines?

It's still going to be Red Alert because wacky timeline tampering and bizzare units is really what defines the series, not the title?
I like this answer.
I'm not saying it won't have the same feel. It obviously will. But, "Red Alert" meant Soviet (Or, rather, Communist) aggression. Japan doesn't exactly meet that criteria.
You wouldn't have thought that the aliens would work very well in the Tiberium arc's GDI vs NOD struggle, but it does. They've thought about that a lot and it came out really well. EALA loves this series and I trust they'll think about it long and hard and I think it'll work. They're a really good team.

Selling my 16GB Wifi iPad 1. UK people only, £150. PM me.
What gets me is the people who hate the Scrin and C&C3 in general because "olol aliens". It's like they never played through C&C:TS. The similarity between the scrin fighters and the Banshee alone is blatantly obvious nevermind the whole bringing up the tacitus in one of the cutscenes.
It serves to flesh out the story better...
It's a small 5 mission campaign basically saying "We're invading destroy everything in sight" but then you learn all kinds of stuff..
It was fairly educational... I think there were a couple other points, but basically each mission you completed uncovered a new fact about why the Scrinn were invading and what their plans were... Needless to say, it opened the door to C&C4

Or Renegade, or even Dawn. Dawn had crashed alien ships in a few of the missions; Renegade's penultimate has an optional section where you can explore one.
I still need to get C&C 3. Hmph. When's that expansion due out, anyway? It'd be a good time to pick it up.
Back during the days of TS, I found the expansion for $20; sitting right next to it was the full game + expansion + music CD, for $20. Guess which one I picked up?
They have a C&C3 + Expansion deal coming out day and date with the expansion (which is due the first or second week of March, I forget which.) C&C3 is a great game, and a true evolution of the Tiberium Series. I think a lot of the hate it got is down to the fact that what many people think of as C&C is actually defined by Red Alert 1 & 2.
Tiberian Sun was always a "meh" game amongst most I knew compared to RA and then RA2. If you liked that though as I did you'll love C&C3.
When the expansion comes out we really need to get a Game On for C&C3, as it's difficult to get a game online where the people aren't either insanely good or crappy engineer-in-APC rushers.
Buying this will also get you into the RA3 Beta.

edit: tried compatibility mode and now it says it can't find the CD

I would love to play RA2 again.
