    Do we really need to allow posting in the reported threads? I think just the reports and a rating would be enough.

    I'm OK with letting people post in the threads for now. If I disabled it, people would find a way around it anyways by, for example, re-reporting the same post and then using the comment field to say what they want to say.

    I only brought it up because I can't tell the new reports from the reports with recent comments without skimming the time column. So many of these reports are spawning a lot of "funny stuff" or "great post" posts that it's hard to sort through anything. Besides, couldn't re-reporting just for the sake of conversation be considered report button abuse and be an infractable/post button removable offense?

    I just set mine to sort descending by thread start time instead of last post time. That seems to work pretty well now.

    The question is if I should make that the default sort for this forum. Or, if I should make sort by rating the default. Or if I should just leave it like the rest of the forums

    I think that should be the default. Otherwise there will be a lot of older 5-star threads towards the top that may get rated down not for content, but because they are old. If people want to look for older 5-star threads, they won't be hard to find. Discussion about those posts won't go on for too long, regardless.

    the titles, right now, are a pain in the ass. They're basically identical and don't have anything to do with the content, which makes browsing sort of an exercise in frustration.

    unfortunately, I'm not sure how better to approach them.

    I think the titles issue is less problematic if the sort order defaults to First Post, since you won't see older reported posts jumping to the top to confuse you.

    It also might make more sense to have it be "Awesomness by" and the name of the person who posted and not the name of the person who reported the post.

    I agree, and mentioned such earlier. I'll probably try tweaking that in the near future, time permitting.

    Since it links to the post in each thread, I'd get rid of either the forum or the thread title it comes from. The page layout is getting awfully convoluted.

    I was just thinking about this. Is quality control an issue with this forum?

    Like, is it better to only report something that you think is going to be 4/5 stars, or should we be less selective and just let voting determine what is and isn't awesome?

    I'll be honest, with this one I just got excited and clicked on the first post I saw that even vaguely qualified. It then got voted down (and locked), and it'll be buried before long.

    Should we be casting a wide net or being very selective?

    Well, one star is Terrible and two stars is Bad, so really you shouldn't ever report anything you think is going to get anything less than 3 (average) and you should be shooting for 4-5 when you report it. Granted what you think is 4-5 star material may or may not be.
