Military presses are not a substitute for rows. Try doing renegade rows (the one that looks like a pushup) instead. You can do it with dumbbells, as long as the dumbbells have flat bottoms so they can be placed on the floor.
military presses are a better substitute for upright rows than any other row would be. upright rows are very much a deltoid/trap exercise and not at all a rhomboid/lat exercise like every other row.
also i believe that upright rows are generally safe and not dangerous, but this comes with the qualification that you can't be an idiot. know yourself, know the exercise, know your limitations and you'll be fine.
so i saw nature hard at work on my aborted run yesterday
i run in protected wetlands across the street from campus. as i came around a corner yesterday, i saw a pretty large bird-of-prey (~4 foot wingspan) take off from the ground, probably 'cause I startled it. As I approach where it was, I see a dead possum, throat torn out. There's some movement near its belly, and as I look closer there are 7 or so baby possums wriggling around near the belly, eating their dead mom.

and i was like dang that's fucked up
Possums aren't usually carnivorous though.
Are you sure you saw them eating her? Perhaps they were just clawing at her... prodding her, to try to wake her up

Shoulders are like my favorite thing to work. I have to resist the urge to do shoulder exercises every time I'm in the gym, I'm sure that I could get like most people with biceps or pecs.

8oz should fit in the palm of your hand as a rough estimate
4oz is just the palm area, minus fingers
Sweet, better that I'm eating a little over than a little under I think. I just realised I've supposed to have been eating a backed potato with dinner too. Stupid tube.

Man I had that problem when I was first starting out and never had a spotter. I always freaked out once my arms got tired and was too scared to up the weight.
So I'm about to be done school, which will give me tons more time to go to the gym. I've never really got a clear answer about this: is it better to do a lot of lighter weights, or a smaller amount of heavier ones?
There's a chart people have, somebody should post it again. Lower reps (around 5) will give just pure strength gains, higher reps (10?) will give bigger size, and even higher reps will basically turn into cardio.
I usually do 4 sets of 95 with the bar... lately though Its been tougher for some reason. I think I've fatigued the muscles. I was working them almost every day for 5 days straight.

it looked pretty eating to me
On the plus side I have traps like the hulk for the next ten minutes.
you could have traps like the hulk all the time if you would upright row
Too much exercise.
I should really use those too.

did you go on like a real long protest march
And it's so much pain.
if I have to eat 8oz of red meat, and I eat a medium sized steak, is that enough?
4oz is just the palm area, minus fingers
edit- or i might just not know how much the steak i eat weighs.

I've been doing 12 reps of 65, 10 of 75, 10 of 85, and finally 8 at 95.
I just did two sets of 8 at 95 without too much trouble at all.
Thoughts?
I'd imagine bar included since from what I recall hes pretty tiny (could have forumers crossed though).
Here's my question though SH, have you ever bench till you failed on a rep and needed a spot?
Come Overwatch with meeeee
