My initial reaction when I came across this was 'lolwutgayfanfic', but if you look at the effort they're putting into this, I was pretty impressed. Check out the trailers and the still pics.
It also seems like they're composing all their own music and it all sounds very well done. It's from a guy called Chris Bouchard.

That and the fact that the music they're using is their own production while still being quality also was a good touch.
Dude actually doesn't look that much like Viggo but he seems to have the spirit down, and the costumes actually look pretty damn good.
landscape shots are fucking easy to make look beautiful, but you don't get to see his body language (how comfortably and convincingly he moves) and you don't hear him say anything

He only became involved in the context of Strider's search for Gollum towards the end when Strider brought Gollum to Thranduil's Halls in Mirkwood and he was questioned there by Gandalf.
