Pfft, that's just a man concerned about the well being and colonic hygiene of his fellow citizen is all.
if only because you really should not be getting off on a medical procedure
So sign up for a colonoscopy.
Man what?
So, what does my fantasy tell YOU (oh wise and learned one) about ME?
I really don't get what you are trying to say here.
I'm pretty sure my fantasy just reflects that I'm superheroic and AWESOME
dude is creepy regardless
WHAT?
Yeah, I guess there's the other side, where you have achieved such heights of wealth that the only remaining fantasies are, like, actual world domination or impossible sex.
This is obviously true, as people who have their shit together don't need to pop pills (or whatever) to be happy. People who use drugs for recreational purposes have something wrong with their lives. And no, we're not talking about small doses of drugs such as, say, a few beers while watching football, or a cigarette after work or sex or whatever, or a glass of wine at dinner. We're talking about purposeful intoxication, like "I am going to get drunk" kind of drinking (to stick with alcohol as the example drug). If you're doing that deliberately, there is clearly something wrong with your life.
What if the man we were talking about didn't have a colon?
OK, so this is your par-for-the-course fuh fuh fuhing where you just take a sentence I've wrote that is correct and change one part of it to make a sentence that is incorrect. Then you post that, as if it implies that you've somehow found a hole in my logic.
Perhaps I am making a statement on the nature of ridiculous generalities.
Except that my statement was a generalization that was largely correct, whereas your statement was a generalization that was incorrect. Your statement makes the implication that my generalization is similarly incorrect. Alternately, one could interpret your statement as an incorrect generalization ABOUT generalizations being incorrect (in general). Man, it's some work, but goddamn I am going to make your posts have some mental value. I am going to rape some intelligence into them. Mmm, rape fantasies.
Sometimes true, sometimes not true. Depends on the specifics.
sober six years in case you were going to go for that one.
It is exactly as stupid as saying that people who occasionally get drunk have problems with their lives.
wah wah I want a drink but I'm not allowed
fuck it who wants a shot
Yes, that's what it is, it's that I like one thing but not another. It's not that there's any validity to it, let's not even attempt to approach that angle, because that's totally impossible.
Also, it's not on someone's character, exactly. It's saying that "something is wrong." It could be as simple as "whoops, you are genetically an alcoholic," which is not a character flaw. It could be unresolved emotional problems, perhaps stemming from something that isn't your own fault, such as abusive parents. It's also quite possible that it's because you're just a shitty person and your own mind is so boring that you need to fuck it up with drugs to be happy. There are a wide range of reasons, but all of them are indicative that something's wrong.
EDIT: No, I was not going for "you are an addict," but, you know, congratulations on the sobriety.
Occasional drunkenness, like, say, a college kid who gets drunk once a month (as opposed to every Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and possibly Thursday), is just a sign that something minor is wrong. In the case of college kids, it's usually, I would guess, that they're biologically adults but they don't earn their own keep yet, so they haven't been able to mature socially at the same pace as their biology. They are, in essence, adult bodies with minds that are stuck in a prolonged childhood. That is distinctly an imbalance, albeit a very common imbalance. It's not a character flaw or whatever, but it is "something wrong with your life."
Are you 14?
No, consumption of art has never been a sign of an imbalance in life. The exception is when the artistic medium is a new one, and at that time the old farts decry it as mindless bullshit for barely-literate degenerates. Actually, NOT consuming any art is more likely a sign of imbalance. I mean, imagine someone who doesn't watch TV or movies, doesn't read books, doesn't listen to music, doesn't play video games, doesn't look at paintings or sculpture...does not in any way (deliberately) consume any art. That is highly unusual.
You're attempting to make a point that is wrong. The irony of your point is that your point is easily interpreted as the incorrect sweeping generalization that all sweeping generalizations are incorrect.
