Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
Last night I ran myself a hot, hot bath. I have a bath about twice a year usually (a shower is just so much cleaner and more efficient) but this weekend alone I had two. I had a lovely Lush bath bomb to use.
However I didn't fancy just lying there. So while I was soaking I watched Futurama episodes on my PSP (and it didn't even get wet!). Ah, the wonders and conveniences of modern day gadgetry.
So tell me, SE++, what pleasures in life do you indulge in? Perhaps it is food related; a Sunday pub lunch or the occasional bar of luxury chocolate. Or maybe, like me, you appreciate what technology can do for you these days. It may even be as simple as getting to spend an hour or two at work browsing these forums when your boss is looking the other way.
I'm not normally fond of baths; I think it's because usually I don't have the time for them, nor do I like to lie there for very long.
But I had a cold this weekend so it seemed worth it. And as I am currently the only person living in the house I can leave the bathroom door open and have a towel (on the back of the door) close to hand. Plus I have quieter evenings these days.
I don't know anyone who dislikes an In 'n' Out burger
I hadn't read any posts, I was saying I like them too
I mean who doesn't like a good burger?
Ooh right!
And yes, seriously.
Mm, there's a pub near here that does pretty good burgers. After a night out my friends and I will go there for huge, greasy fare to settle our stomachs with. So good.
sometimes i will sit down and see how many books i can read in a saturday, i can read all the narnia books and island of the blue dolphins, or 3 700 page fantasy books, or dune once. (each time i read it i like to take it slow and enjoy it a little)

I dunno. Unless I'm really absorbed into it, I usually take much longer to read a book than I'd like. It's largely due to having an attention span so terrible that my mind will sometimes wander when I'm in the middle of tryign to read a sentence and I have to refocus my attention over and over, and a single pages ends up taking 3x longer than it should.
Bel it took me two years to read lord of the rings
To be fair, Lord of the Rings is some dry, boring-ass shit.
:^:
I either read books really quickly or really slooowly. If I don't finish a book in one sitting it can be weeks before I pick it up again. Count of Monte Cristo took me a year to finish, whereas when I've been on a plane or train journey I can read 2-3 books cover to cover.
I can't read quickly, if I do the words go through my head but I don't take any of it in. Then I wake up like 3 or 4 pages later and notice that I can't remember what the hell is going on at the moment.

Pooro I am sure that when I am in California that a In 'n' Out burger will become an indulgence for me...mm
make sure you try the animal style fries.
Aside from the filthy filthy porn.
But they are in a price range that I can consider them a regular meal and not an indulgence.
Fucking this. Double double with fries and a drink. Fucking delicious
burgers?

I'm not sure why
Perhaps because it's not usually done
And yes, seriously.

so boring
I don't think I ever got as far as 100 pages into the first book.
Tolkien was great at story ideas, but the guy couldn't do prose worth shit.
