1 1/2 vodka, 1 1/2 Kahlua into a tall glass, fill with ice, shake well, should fill 4 shot glasses.
Or if you're after something other than a shot that will put you on your ass. Then do 1oz Vodka and 1oz Kahlua into a tall glass, fill with ice, shake well. You can add a mixer if you want, experiment and see what you like. If I'm not at a pub, club or at work, I often add coke to the mix.
I use Ciroc vodka. I guess you could try some coffee liqueurs other than Kahlua, but I've never really experimented too much with the Black Russian.

problem with the Gold Coast is there isn't any decent pubs to really call your 'favourite local'. so no one really ever heads down to the local for a few drinks

it's very good. they still only have one beer on tap but they do half a litre for $6.50, which is a fine deal
