Two on at the same time?

    Crazy Southerners.

edit: also, I've never been to a comics convention, despite running a reasonably popular comics site.

I may have to rectify this.

There's the london film and comic con at Earl's Court which was around first and was a bit rubbish last time I went, and a completely different one called the LondonExpo at the Excel centre.

Does the UK have a return policy on its citizens?

We have a guy here and he's becoming quite cheeky.

I think you have to throw his tea into the harbour or some such.

Sounds like a frightful waste of the lords own beverage to me though.

So since this is the brit thread, can i ask a tv question: is Gavin and Stacey worth watching? They're starting to air it in bbc america, but i already have tons of shows on dvr, with the fall season just around the corner.

A lot of people seem to like it. It didn't leave much of an impression on me though.

hmm, ok, i'll give it a shot and keep my expectations low. a lot of reviews have been extremely positive for it, but man, i don't know if i can handle the crazy accents.

I wonder if Elton John will rewrite one of his songs to honor Janson leaving England. That would be cool. One of you fags contact him through your fagnet and get this done.

Oh, okay, apparently a return from Norwich to London is 'only' £18. In that case, if I've managed to sort my job out, I might be able to make it.

    So:

    Me (definite)
    MikeRyu (definite)
    Junpei (definite)
    Mojo_Jojo (strong maybe)
    Bongi (strong maybe)
    Ascot (hopeful)
    Sporky (faint hopeful)

This is not a bad list so far!

So, folks, I am exchanging this green and pleasant (and very wet) land for sunnier climes on the 19th November.

Before that I would love to meet a few of you UK forumers in London. The last two meet-ups we had I feel were very successful and we had a fantastic time!

For anyone concerned about monetary costs, the meet-ups are usually kept fairly cheap. London is chock-full of free places to visit and for the majority of the afternoon/evening we find a pub to camp in and have a few pints. Last meet-up Rohaq organised a cheap hostel, too, which was a great option for those of us who wished to stay over until the next morning.

Who is interested? I'm hoping to ensnare a few of you who haven't attended the previous meet-ups (Silmaril!). Just about any weekend in October/early November would work well for me. Last year's murmurings never amounted to anything as we never fixed a precise date, so the sooner we can fix a date the better.

Sorry I won't be able to make it this time, Janson. :(

Hope you guys had fun! I always did when we met up when I was over there. Except for when I felt like an outcast because I didn't have a Nintendo DS. ;)
