Rawr! Doodles of Metamorpho.
I've been spending most of my drawing time working on anatomy. Decided that going back to basics would be a good move for me. I'm basically just copying musculature diagrams and whatnot out of anatomy books, and then taping tracing paper over them, and drawing skin over them. I wouldn't mind posting them to get a crit or two, but I don't want to hijack the doodle thread or make a new thread just for them right now. Maybe I'll wait till I have a few more pages...
Lewis, I have to say, that's really good in comparison to your other work. Proportions/perspective are way better than the other stuff I've seen from you.

I'd have to agree with you there, Dark Knight- really a big step up in cleanliness and anatomy and cloth effects and pose compared to the other little doodles and comics we've seen from you Lewis.
Glad to see Buckwolfe back in action as well. I think tracing is never a good idea, I admantly advise you not to trace anything ever in life, there is just no way to improve yourself doing that, or ingraining it into your memory. Good call checking out some anatomy books though, I can already see an improvement with Metamorpho there as he's a bit taller and leaner than your usual squat little imps.
A cover for a webcomic that I'm writing and drawing and planning on making a site for. This is the cover for the first story entitled "The man with a name and the man with a knife." About two of the characters in the comic.
The man with a name and the man with a knife? The Illegal Team? Is the comic supposed to be parodying something because those are both completely ridiculous names.

Like all things, Bristol board comes in a variety of shapes and qualities (and consequently price). I got my canson 11x14 w/ 15 sheets for like $18. Too bad I'm afraid to use it because I'm an awful paper waster o.o

It's supposed to be ridiculous. Out of proportion explosions, crazy car chases, and hundreds of thousands of people getting killed.
The One Dark Knight - I used models for this, I didn't just draw it from scratch. I wish. But now I really see how even just looking at others drawings and pictures from say movies is a great way to learn anatomy and clothes stuff.
"Art that I didn't feel like making a new thread for" doesn't have the same ring to it.
Ah. Continue on. I was just saying that most of the work that comes through here can hardly be considered doodles.
Sometimes it's stuff that you don't intend to rework, so you don't want to get a whole lot of crits, but you do want to show it off.
Or in some cases, you're too scared of making a whole new thread for it, or don't get much feedback either way.
The thing I'm posting now is definately no longer a doodle, but the last time I made a thread here I ended up abandoning it. And I think the one before, that, too. ._.;;
um. I need help with that neck muscle... the one that goes from the collar to the ear. Anyone know it well enough to give me a rough draw-over of what it should look like when the neck is twisted like this?
Dark Night- For some reason I'm not at all uncomfortable with the amalgamation of Nightmare+Haruko+(random-electrical-taped-boob-woman, who I will privately assume is porn starlet Jenna Haze). But that torso could use some rethinking also, the pose makes her right arm look amputated. Still, Giant Arm, LOL!
Also, Needs a Soul Edge/Rickenbaker 4001 Bass guitar combo. I imagine you feel the same way.
Yeah, now that you mention it, the lines used to be heavier around her right leg/areas of her torso and where I thinned the lines I guess I didn't expand the colored areas to match the loss.
And yeah, she does look like Haruko... why is that? I didn't intend that, that's actually a character I draw fairly regularly, and although there are similarities she doesn't look like she's be bashing people's heads in with a guitar.
Yeah, just had that pointed out to me. I could definately put it into perspective a little better. Torso is also a bit short, but that is easily solved.

Speaking of which, you should probably make it known when you're drawing from source material when this gets published - I like that you've shown some progress, and I like that you did give your characters something of a unique look. BUT, if this is for a cover, you might want to get a bit more derivative.
I hate playing the critic when I've nothing of my own to post, but I feel the need to tell you that sticking that close to the source can cause you a lot of problems down the line.
EDIT: Unless, of course, you've made it clear that you're paying homage to the original material with your own works - then such imitation is flattery rather than appearing to infringe on copyrights.

It's not so much the perspective as it is the general anatomy of it. His thumb is too small and his fingers are too large (too fat). I also don't see any reason to have is fingers in that position.
The One Dark Knight - High five for learning to draw without books and instead with pikchurs!
Also, the bandade things on her nipples reminds me of Tank Girl.
Paulwind - Your pics are very awesome. They have a certain hellboy style of art. Thats good.
It's technically a finished piece, but no point in making a thread for it, I dunna think. It's MSPainty, but done in Photoshop cos I'm a big fat cheater. Still took a buttload of effort, though, 'sall freehand.

I imagine that's just a sort of tagline.

A charater of mine, I forgot to name him.
Goddamn botp:
Since everyone forgot old Wolfbuck
Probably.
...this sounds a little more reasonable. I think maybe Frank is drawing on slates of solid gold that he's mistaking for paper.

I learnt how to draw (I'm completely self taught) mostly by simply observing real life/photos/movies and finding the proportions, etc.

At least I'm drawing. *shrug*
I'll try some shading, though I've never really done it before...

bottom right head is comically large. heh.

Think I'm going to ink + color this. I love it. Anatomy is off in places, but that's ok

Also, he has man boobs.
Finally, a doodle that actually is a doodle!
