Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it,
follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given
their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
[WAR] CE Headstart Now! SE the 16th, launch 18th.

You should give me your unused CE code since GS screwed me outta mine (along with many other people) and then had the audacity to put them on sale again because they had extras. It would be the noble thing to do
What stats should I give worldwide/serverwide/guildwide rankings on?
I currently have:
DPS, Damage Dealt, Damage Taken, Crit Rate, Avoid Rate, Highest Melee Hit, Highest Non-Melee Hit, and Highest Heal.
Any other stats you'd like to see how you compare against other players?

Time to put up some votes on the TSM site.
Looks like Mythic thinks Open RvR will be popular, 40% of the servers are Open RvR of some sort while 60% are Core of some sort. 20% of all servers are RP (NA). An RP/Open RvR server might actually be fun...but I wouldn't want to make it my home server. I'm still more interested in Core, based on my DAoC experiences.
There are some formatting problems, fixing those now
ed: kinda fixed?
Servers, servers - get'ya servers! Below you will find the server names we anticipate being available at Launch. These will begin going live Sunday, September 14th with the Collector’s Edition Head Start and will continue to roll out leading up to Launch on September 18th.
Players will be able to choose from four server types: Core, Open RvR, Roleplay, and a hybrid Roleplay/Open RvR ruleset. We will continue to open up servers supporting different server types as the need arises.
Core Ruleset
Core servers are just what you’d expect. These are servers that have everything Warhammer has to offer, with no special changes to the normal ruleset. RvR is confined to lakes and Scenarios, and there are two opposing realms engaged in the WAR. Players may only engage in Player vs. Player combat when flagged to do so in specific areas around the world. Select a Core ruleset server for the original exciting gameplay experience that WAR was designed to offer.
Open RvR Ruleset
The Open RvR servers feature RvR flagging everywhere except for the Tier 1 Chapter area and the surrounding PvE content. Once players leave this area, they will be flagged for RvR anywhere in the game. Open RvR servers are perfect for those who want to add an extra challenge to their gaming experience. Players must constantly watch their backs or risk attack by enemies everywhere they go! Only members of opposing realms may attack each other; the Open RvR server still focuses on Order versus Destruction.
Rules:
- Players are always RvR flagged from the moment they log in
- Chapter 1 hubs and capital cities are safe
- There is no bolster buff in RvR lakes
- Players will be chickened when entering an area that is two tiers below their level (ex. A Tier 3 player entering a Tier 1 area.)
Roleplay and Roleplay/Open RvR
Any server flagged as Roleplay will follow the same rules as above, but with an additional set of guidelines. These servers are for those players who enjoy truly immersing themselves into the Warhammer lore by acting as their characters’ personalities in-game. Players who opt to participate on a Role Playing server must agree to far more specific rules regarding naming, and it is suggested that players would adhere to WAR or high fantasy conduct and behavior.

If faith is just a silent tribute, mine is just a desperate act.
I was suggesting a server for TSM
I know, I lose. D:
Woo, login timeouts.
Wouldn't know any more lord quests, but if that's the one with the troll dude then I'd like to know how you're supposed to manage that guy. He three shot my r17 blorc. Do you have to have a bunch of tanks guarding each other or something?
Oooh. I was hoping they would have Skavenblight as a server.
Chapter 2 Chaos the Fishing village PQ has a Lord
Why are the Chaos PQs so much harder?
15 Core
9 Open
3 RP
3 RP Open
30 total for NA. Woo.
Oceania gets 6 servers too, goodness.
And that's just the first list. They've probably got several waiting in the wings depending on how the server populations are next week.
Skavenblight for an RP. Hahaha. That almost makes our decision for us
But if we're not doing RP, then.... hmm... not sure. This'll take some thinking.
I do like how none of the server names are the same. That way folks from Beta don't have any "loyalty" to a server.
Except for Heldenhammer... and hasn't that always been the Dev Server?
MH3U Veggie Elder Ticket Guide
The fight is a lot of fun. You kill a hero then a bunch of crows attack you and he turns into a fucking lord. Scared the shit outa me.
Long enough to type "woo" into /gu then kicked to server select. Now I can't get back on
I don't have a reason for doing so other than I like those two words next to one another.
I bet Skavenblight will be the RP server with the most hardcore Warhammer lore nerds ever.
Sea of Malice will be overrun with emo Dark Elves.
Skull Throne will be full of the kind of people I hate. "lrn 2 pvp, n00b"
I'm not saying they aren't fun, they're just harder to pull off than the equivalent greenskin/de PQs.
We 6 manned him with a 17 Chosen tanking, two 14 sorcs, two 14 zealots, a marauder who died about a million times to his warstomp-ish ability, and a level 8 squig herder (lolol running through high level zones with lowbies.) The strategy we used was having everybody arranged in a big triangle with the tank at one end, the healers at the other end (at near max healing range,) and the ranged in a position where they could hit the giant troll no matter where along that line it was at currently, but still well out of his AE range.
Every time the troll uses his knockdown, the tank temporarily loses agro and has to generate at least a tiny bit of threat to get him to come back, so we had the chosen guarding a sorc that was going to be putting out constant damage. Whenever the knockdown happened, it would invariably go after one of our zealots (me, usually) who would then kite until the knockdown wore off, the trick that made it viable was having a primary snare (that's all our marauder would do, run in, snare, run away before dying to a 2k AE,) and then a backup snare when that couldn't happen (the squig herder.) We actually lost our tank to a ridiculous breath+stomp+crit combo at about 20%, but at that point I had enough threat to just run him in circles until he died.
Healing was really tight, but the warstomps actually gave us a little more breathing room, since we could regen AP while he was running back and forth.
EDIT: Also, we were down to the last 20 seconds before the timer ran out, so dps was equally tight.
If this happens to people in live it's going to be a pretty big deal.
GM: Rusty Chains (DH Ongoing)
I'm just going to quit announcing these things since they always go wrong. :?
Ran into it last night for the first time with a group of 4 and a few solo players hanging around...we were all goating about demolishing this down, just the four of us...then that thing popped and promptly 1/2 shotted the tank. Three chosens tried to tank it - none of them decided that putting on a shield might be smart...and the DoK decided it would be better to let me (zealot) handle healing solo. It's the first PQ that I've flat out lost. D:
Heh, some of them are rough. There's one in the dark elf chapter 9 who's end boss has approximately 8 trillion hp, and does an AE that hits an NPC that fails you if it dies, and you can't heal the NPC. With a group of 10 we only had him to half before the NPC died
Definately gives an epic feel though.
