If you predict a switch, then use a different attack. There wasn't anything Hippowdon could have done in that situation, so even if you predicted wrong it wouldn't hurt you much.
It wouldn't have been resisted. Water resists but Steel is weak to fire, so it would do normal damage.
You would still want to switch most likely, but at least some damage would be done.
Gunz gave another challenge, this time his team of giratina, darkrai, deoxys, gengar, magnezone, and blissey were taken out by swords dance/speed boost garchomp. Good times.
And! I did not realize so many previous holders of the OP were so dissatisfied with it. I had not planned any major renovations for fear of stomping on toes, but now that I have the go-ahead I guess I will try to come up with something clever.

Busy Sunday. I currently have... six new guys that no-one's seen (though Nerd's seen two of them) not counting The Queen, 'cause she's awesome. They're not a self-standing team by any means, though. Can't really play until I get home from work now, either. Sorry, Hydron! That's an odd time to be at school, unless you're in EUROPE.
Also, note to self: When fighting Nerd's team... yeah. It's a note to myself. At least there's no SkarmBliss! Maybe I should do that m'self.
The Queen and Bad Sushi were finished, um. Saturday 6th.
My funky duo that aren't that good but are a lot of fun were finished around the middle of that week, and Inari was done the weekend of the 13th/14th. I finished the other two new guys on the 21st, so that's seven in about two and a half-weeks. (The Queen and Bad Sushi were started on Wednesday/Thursday 3rd/4th. I was on a train for most of one of those days.) Oh, and I always use Vitamins for EVs unless I can't.
I've been breeding/hatching eggs on my commute to and from work, and in my lunch hour, and occasionally when watching a movie or while my housemate plays games on the big TV in the living room. I sorta got right back into the breeding/training thing hardcore once I sat down and finally got a decent baby to train up for The Queen. (I'd previously tried to breed one of those before, but getting one with the right nature, ability and gender that had usable IVs when two of the ones I wanted were HP and DEF just broke me, and I gave up on breeding for about 4 months.)
