Wooooo! Finally found the right DOSBOX settings to make my ancient Magic Carpet cd useful again. This thing is like 14 years old and still works. Held together by the sheer awesome encoded on it's shiny surface.
For all the nonsense he goes on about nowadays there was a time when Peter Molyneux was a total frikkin genius. I think EA killing off Bullfrog really messed with the poor bastards head.
hmm, I wonder if I could get Dungeon Keeper to work now as well. Last time I tried Dosbox + my old machine wasn't up to it. But I think this might be now.
God, everything Bullfrog did was art.
One company in the span of a few years made: Populous, Magic Carpet, Dungeon Keeper, Syndicate, Magic Carpet 2.
Edit: ooh, also Power Monger. Forgot about that one. Between various friends we managed to obtain and play all of those back when they were new. Damn the early 90s was the Golden Age of gaming. I'm really hoping stuff like the reasonable ease of access to dev kits for XNA (xbox / windows) and the iPhone brings back that kind of creativity.
Fuck all those chowders. It's about the Monterey chowder.

Oh man that game was awesome when I got it with my first real computer: a 200MHz Pentium with 32MB of RAM.

Boy, I sure am glad that nothing but unambiguously good things happened in World War 2. I wonder what it must have been like to have lived in such an unambiguously good time.

This is sarcasm, right?
Wanting to live in idyllically noble, bold, and virtuous times = not sarcastic.

Limewire is supposed to be absolutely infested with spyware and other garbage.
That's Ottawa, on the east side. Though Ontario does go further north, in the west.
That is what led to me Recovering the thing last time.
Now they need to hunt the disk down again.

Something beyond monkeys throwing darts at balloons preferably.
Trying to open up Firefox on this thing just gets you the X button and a bit of blue windows bar and that is it.

Lst time I did that my ticket came adressed to Sturat.
And thus a fantastic new nickname was born.
Maybe if you make a concerted effort.
If you do it organically then it takes longer.
I have had one nickname in my life, really ... the underclassmen in high school called me 'Kumquat'
oh and some people shorten my name (Emily) to Em, or EmJay (since my middle name is Jane) but those are boring
Have you had it at Fisherman's Wharf yet.
It is so good.
Especially on a foggy day.
With a sexy blond girl who is your best platonic friend ever.

but such places are often clumps of threads and the threads are of fate
so it is a worthwhile endeavour, if only because Something May Happen
@Jewcar: I have only had multiple samplings. Tasty, tasty samplings.
I have had a range of nicknames, from the very boring to the most obscure, and also the very dumb.
Goldilocks was perhaps the worst, and was intended as an epithet by at least half of those who used it.
Hercules and by extension, Kevin were perhaps the most obscure.
But that would be boring.
And require practice, rather than just waiting for it to sink in by watching 48 hours worth of The Bill.
This is sarcasm, right?
No.
Also I love Dubya.
The rest of it, yeah.
Blarf.
that too
