The LE strategy guide is fucking awesome, if just because it's so huge and comprehensive. Plus, it's hardcover, which is niiice.
I can't help but feel a little annoyed at the lockpicking system being locked out until you reach a certain skill level, but I guess that's better than Oblivion's "You can pick any lock with any skill level because the minigame is fucking easy" tactic.
Animation is better than I thought, although when Sheriff Sims ran down a hill at one point in Megaton it looked terrible, as he just kind of slid down the hill at an angle using his running animation. I think I've been spoiled by GTAIV's amazing animation, though.
Combat is decent, but I can't really see using melee, as I've found it nigh-useless, but since I'm playing a Small Guns character it makes sense. VATS is pretty neccessary, although it is easy enough to kill enemies normally. I do like that your gun skill affects how well you shoot - I picked up a laser pistol and tried to shoot at an enemy about twenty feet away from me and kept missing. Of course, that diminishes the closer you get.
And yes, they absolutely fucking nailed the setting. Very well done in that department.
Oh, and the game runs fantastic for me at 1440x900 with everything cranked up to High. I'd consider bringing it up to Ultra, but I really doubt I'd notice the difference.
Anyone found a quick(er) way to make some caps. I want the plans for the teddy-bear gun, but can never seam to save up enough caps without needing something or someone blackmailing me or something.
