I just uninstalled and reinstalled the game in the span of one page

maaaaaan I hate it when someone is all "I don't want to kill anyone in the game" and then other people are like "well dur just plant live explosives on them or make them OD on health syringes." because whether or not the game tracks that as a kill doesnt matter because YOU STILL KILLED THEM!

So I've posted my specs before, but:

2.4GHz Core 2 Quad (Q6600)
8GB DDR2 1066
Now, the game automatically sets itself to 1680x1050 AAx4 ASx8 with HDR by default, and everything runs deliciously smooth 99% of the time.
However, one thing consistently slows my framerate to a nearly-unplayable crawl everytime: the dang heat wave effect. If you don't know what I'm talking about, think of the jet that those spherical butler robots have. Their little hoverjet thing shows a distortion like you would see from hot gases. That thing. Every time I look at one of those robots my shit gets unplayable.
Even worse are rooms filled with gas that have that effect. Not only does my shit get slow and wonky when I'm in those rooms, but even being clear across a building, if I look in the direction of such a room, even if I might be staring at a wall, my shit gets slow as molasses. Is there a way for me to turn that off?
how the hell do i get to the tepid sewers? iv been working my way through a bajillion different sewers and all i have managed to do is level up a buncha times because its non stop fighting ferals, mirelurks and raiders.

guys i am going to buy this right now and damn the fact that i only have $170 left for the rest of the month.
i am so stoked. so. stoked. i am worried my old 3.01 GHz P4 will bottleneck and make everything go poopy though.
also sometimes my graphics will go all lsd and rocks will turn purple and fences blue and things will leave streaks in the air and circular things will be blocky

No it's any old landmine. Frag mines worked for me.
I think I'm going to pick up Scrounger at level 8 because goddamn I am always out of ammo. I carry like 5 guns just so I can use my meager supply of bullets for each.
I am thinking about doing this
can anyone vouch for scrounger or is it not really worth it?
I got the scrounger perk and it is pretty sweet.
I have 100+ rounds for my shotgun, at least 400 rounds for my chinese assault rifle, at least 300 rounds for my 10mm submachine gun, 600 rounds for my laser pistol, and like 200 rounds for my hunting rifle.
I don't have to worry about ammo at all.
Also it doesn't hurt that I use the rock-it launcher a lot which saves a TON of ammo.
damnit. their shit doesnt work for me for some reason. I dunno if it wont download because of something with the network or if it just doesnt like XP 64bit or what
